She hopes to find true love in her own time, but her father continues to persuade her into marrying a wealthy prince that will take care of her after he is gone. It is because of this that Aladdin doubts he would be able to be with the princess. However, he does not know that Jasmine does not desire her true love to be wealthy, but to love her. In other words, she loves Aladdin despite his lack of wealth. Aladdin doesn't realize this when Jasmine left her father and pet tiger Rajah home and ran away from palace life to disguise herself as a peasant woman.
