Would it be better if the "materials" section was written in prose form and paragraphs instead of having a table? TheFifteenthMember 23:06, 1 November 2013 (UTC)

Move[edit]

According to the template on the article and the redirect that was edit on the Shadow's page, the page should be moved to Highwind (Raft). I was going to do so when I saw that it has already been moved once before. To clarify, I want to ask, once and for all, should the page be move to Highwind (Raft)?--NinjaSheik 19:37, 15 May 2014 (UTC)

Makes sense to me. On another note, has moving pages always been open to any editor? I thought it used to be for mods/staff only.--Xion4ever 02:24, 16 May 2014 (UTC)
It's always been opened to other editors, from what I know. Also, before I do anything, I just want to make sure that when I Move it, I have one thing selected correctly: "To new title: (Main) Highwind (Raft)", is that right? I normally don't move a lot of pages. It's been a while since I did one. Just wanna make sure I don't blunder. EDIT: All right, I moved it! :)--NinjaSheik 04:01, 16 May 2014 (UTC)

Moving pages is limited to mods/staff when it would result in a page being deleted, and I think for images. --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 05:35, 16 May 2014 (UTC)

Move to "Highwind (raft)"[edit]

I don't see the need for a capital letter. TheFifteenthMember 22:25, 8 August 2014 (UTC)

Sounds fine to me. Anyone else? Xion4ever 02:35, 10 August 2014 (UTC)
Seems good. --Doggieboy9 (talk) 16:34, 9 September 2014 (UTC)

"Highwind raft"[edit]

Are the brackets in the title necessary? TheFifteenthMember 19:37, 11 October 2015 (UTC)

You make a good point. Why was the article titled with the brackets to begin with? Originally, I thought it was not to confuse "Highwind" with Cid's last name, but looking at the history, a user called Doggieboy9 was the one who originally moved it without providing an explanation.--NinjaSheik 20:43, 11 October 2015 (UTC)

I think the brackets were added because Highwind is a Gummi Ship model, but since it doesn't have its own page, we can use a youmay for that. TheSilentHero 20:52, 11 October 2015 (UTC)
Oh, right! I completely forgot about the Gummi Ship. Yeah, a "You May" notice should be placed on the article.--NinjaSheik 21:54, 11 October 2015 (UTC)

There's a reason why the bracket is included: you have Highwind (raft), Highwind (character, in the form of Cid Highwind), Highwind (line of gummi ship blueprints), or Highwind Alpha (special gummi ship blueprint). It's all in the Manual of Style, is it not? If there is a disambig page for this sort of thing, then fine. But I think that removing the brackets in the title will only confuse matters even more... TRSNX 11:01, 13 October 2015 (UTC)

The thing is, Cid is never called "Highwind", so there's no reason to link to him, and the Highwind gummi models are on a "List of..." page, meaning we could have the raft on the Highwind page and send viewers to the gummi ship page via a youmay template.
However, I do think whenever someone searches for Highwind, they want to find the Gummi Ship and not the raft, since it's name isn't very important, and the player has the option to choose another name, so I'm not sure anymore about moving this... TheSilentHero 17:07, 13 October 2015 (UTC)

"That's quite enough coconuts"[edit]

I mean to make a bit of a footnote that theoretically, the Coconuts are the one item in this quest that you can gather as many as you like of, but you need to have a minimum of two. But if you come in and see Kairi with a ridiculous number of coconuts (say, for instance, 20 like I did once), she says something like "That's quite enough coconuts". I don't remember the whole quote; can someone please look it up and give it me? TRSNX 11:01, 13 October 2015 (UTC)

Name[edit]

Why is this called Highwind, anyway? If Sora wins the race, you can choose the name, and it's Excalibur by default. Only when Riku wins, the raft is named Highwind. (Why is Riku winning canon, by the way?) I think this should be moved to just "raft" or something. TheSilentHero 18:02, 29 October 2015 (UTC)

List of Gummi Ship Blueprints (KHII)#Highwind-Type."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 18:44, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
That's from a different game, and the basic model from KH1, which looks like it, is called "Kingdom". TheSilentHero 18:51, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
Right, just as KH2 verified that the Unknown in KHFM was canon, it verifies that the name for that style of Gummi Ship (which is identical to Kingdom except for having a few additional weapons), outside of player interference, is "Highwind". And since the name of the original Gummi Ship model is innately tied to the raft's name, it implies that, outside of player interference, Riku won the race."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 22:02, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
I personally consider the first model used in KH2 to be a completely different model altogether, seeing how that model was somewhat altered from the original 'Kingdom' model. And in all honesty, I don't think the name of the ship/model is even relevant. After all, you never hear the name of the ship in story. The name of the blueprints/models are all just a game mechanic, nothing more. So I would hardly consider them actually canon, especially if the name of the your first ship in KH1 (which is technically using the "Kingdom" blueprint by default) is dictated by the name of a raft; a raft that became obsolete soon after naming it. So I don't see the point of saying that the name Highwind is canon for the raft when the raft itself is completely irrelevant? Blackchaos27 (talk) 22:55, 29 October 2015 (UTC)
That doesn't follow. Pretty Stone is almost completely irrelevant, but it still has a canon name.
In addition, the first model used in KH2 may be technically different, but it is very obviously the same design, with added Blizzard and Thunder weapons. That's it. The fact that it shares the name the original Gummi Ship receives if Riku wins the race is...come on. I'm all for not putting VAs on articles until we can get confirmation, since the whole point of voice acting is to imitate someone else's voice, but this is like claiming No Heart has no relation to Armored Xemnas, or the Soul Eater has no relation to Way to the Dawn."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 14:24, 30 October 2015 (UTC)
That makes sense. Although it seems a bit weird that the player losing is canon. TheSilentHero 18:47, 30 October 2015 (UTC)
Not really. It's like Leon beating Sora in Traverse Town. TheFifteenthMember 19:10, 30 October 2015 (UTC)
I find the Pretty Stone comparison to be a moot point because that's an inventory item, while the raft is not nor something you actually pilot in the game.
Even though I still say that naming the raft which turns into the name of your gummi ship is just a game mechanic (and who's to say Sora actually would've named it that even if he did lose or maybe name it that anyway even if he won), I can, however, agree that they technically are using the same ship even if slightly modified, so I'll concede. Item descriptions[edit]

Where do these come from? In 1.5 at least, the in game descriptions are all different. For example, the coconut desc is “A coconut from a coco palm tree. A provision for the raft.” Are the current descriptions wrong or have they been changed since KH1? TheFifteenthMember 18:48, 16 August 2018 (UTC)

I think the current descriptions aren't official. They should be replaced by the official ones. TheSilentHero 19:17, 16 August 2018 (UTC)
Can anyone start up a new game to find these? TheFifteenthMember 18:05, 17 August 2018 (UTC)
