The Dustflier is an Emblem Heartless that is found in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. It can be found at the Station Plaza in Twilight Town during Mission 89, after the basic requirements of the mission have been cleared. Defeating the Dustflier is the last requirement to completing the mission.

A Dustflier is a large, draconian creature with predominantly brown skin, save for its belly, which is tan, and its shoulders, feet, and the tip of its tail, all of which are black. Its body is rather thin, while its three-toed feet are quite large, each sporting orange talons. Its wings seem rather short and bulky when compared to its feet and tail, and its light orange wingtips are vaguely reminiscent of the Nobody symbol. The Dustflier's tail ends in a large, misshapen club with three conical, orange spikes on it, and its head is V-shaped and flat. It has beady yellow eyes on either side of its head, and its Heartless emblem is on its chest.

Strategy
The Dustflier appears at the Station Plaza after the basic requirements for the mission have been completed. It is vital that the player have Glide or float equipped (preferably glide), and a strong Keyblade. Dustflier's most accurate attack is Fire-elemental, so it would be wise to equip a Ring that defends against Fire damage or Ignite status, such as the Tears of Flame. One gear setup that is helpful is the Ultimate Gear+ (Twilight Blaze+) with 3 ability units, one power unit, and one sight unit. This allows you to deal a fair amount of damage per hit and allows you to get a critical hit more often.
The Dustflier appears at Station Plaza after the other six Heartless bosses are defeated. With its immense Defense and HP, the Dustflier takes a very long time to whittle down. Its attacks deal high damage and inflict status effects, so watch for visual cues telegraphing each attack and dodge carefully. Be wary of the Shadows that continuously spawn: their attacks can stun, making the player vulnerable to the Dustflier's attacks.

The best way to defeat Dustflier is to memorize its cues. The Dustflier will move a short distance and then land, creating a powerful shockwave that will cover almost the entire field, as well as the ground itself. Make sure to jump over the shockwave and continue gliding until the field fades from the ground. At this point, the Dustflier will begin an actual attack. The Dustflier will either flip, dash forward, or shoot a bevy of homing fireballs. The first two attacks can be evaded by keeping your distance from the Dustflier, while the fireballs can be avoided by continuing to glide away from them. However, the simplest way to avoid the fireballs is to, as soon as you see Dustflier preparing to launch them, glide behind one of the pillers in front of the Train Station as quickly as possible. If you do so correctly, the fireballs will almost always miss. As soon as you escape these attacks, go for the Dustflier and land at least one combo on it; sometimes you can land up to three. As soon as the Dustflier flies back into the air, glide away from it and repeat this process. If you do get hit by the Dustflier's attacks, you'll lose a great amount of health, and will suffer a status effect. The shockwave, which has no element, inflicts a random status effect, while the Earth-elemental flip will inflict HP-half, the Aero-elemental air dash will inflict Air-Toss, and the Fire-elemental fireballs will inflict Ignite.
Equip abilities for aerial mobility, especially High Jump, Air Slide, and Glide; a weapon with high Strength, Critical Rate, and/or Critical Bonus to boost damage; and a Ring Panel that boosts either fire resistance, such as the Tears of Flame, or Defense and/or HP, such as the Princess's Crown. The Dustflier is resistant to all offensive magic, but Cure magic can help Roxas's longevity. Bringing Panaceas and Elixirs can make the battle easier.

Or you could fight the thing only at the top of the steps because its most powerful attack, the shockwave, doesn't register damage here and you are surrounded on three sides by walls. He is kept in place for the most part and can be attacked for much longer and easier.
The Dustflier's most common attack consists of a leap, followed by large, slow-moving, non-elemental shockwave that has a 100% chance of inflicting a random negative status effect. Jump and Air Slide or Glide over the shockwave. Alternately, if the Dustflier performs the shockwave on the lower ground, move to the top of the Plaza steps to avoid the shockwave entirely.

You could also try a risky tactic with the fireballs: when you see the that Dustflier is firing them air slide quickly to the Dustflier and block all its fireballs, then you're free to land a combo before its next attack.
After its shockwave attack, the Dustflier follows up with one of three attacks: an aerial flip that halves HP, a flying charge that can air-toss, or a volley of fireballs with an 80% chance of igniting. After each followup attack, the Dustflier performs another shockwave and repeats the process.
(This won't work without round block)

It is a long and difficult battle. Memorize its cues and avoid being hit by attacks, and the mighty Dustflier will go down in time.
The flip and charge are short-range and easily avoided using Air Slide or Glide. Watch out for the fireball attack, telegraphed by the Dustflier spreading its wings and raising its head. Dodge the fireballs by continuous dodging, or by hiding behind the two brick walls at either end of the train station steps. All three attacks can be blocked.

The best opportunities to attack are immediately after the Dustflier's flip and charge attacks. Execute one or two attack combos before the Dustflier leaps up for the next shockwave.

The Dustflier is a test of endurance and patience. Prioritize dodging, and only land attacks when it is safe to do so.
