Sometime after the events of Kingdom Hearts III Re:Mind, Kairi finds herself in The Final World and is attacked by a memory of Master Xehanort. Before dealing a blow to Kairi, Sora’s heart protects her and fights the memory of Xehanort although his voice cannot reach them. After Xehanort is defeated Sora’s heart leaves Kairi.
