I say we move the BbS stuff to Wayfinder but still have it mentioned on the Lucky Charm page--ShadowsTwilight 18:35, September 4, 2010 (UTC)

"Lucky Charm" isn't a proper name, though. It's just "lucky charm". "Wayfinder" is the only proper name we've ever gotten.Glorious CHAOS! 18:40, September 4, 2010 (UTC)

but only the bbs charms have been given the name of "wayfinder" --ShadowsTwilight 18:42, September 4, 2010 (UTC)

I agree with ShadowsTwilight. Only the ones in BBS are called Wayfinders, the one Kairi made for Sora is simply called a Lucky Charm, nothing else. --Evnyofdeath 17:28, September 10, 2010 (UTC)

Based on? Nothing I see uses "Lucky Charm" as a term, just "lucky charm" as a descriptor. "Wayfinder" makes perfect sense, naming-wise, for all uses.Glorious CHAOS! 18:38, September 10, 2010 (UTC)

I believe that they're right we can't just suppose that all of the Lucky Charm mentioned in the article are Wayfinders it is speculation--Xabryn 18:42, September 10, 2010 (UTC)

...but Aqua names it in the context of "this type of charm". She makes one of the lucky charms, and its type is called "Wayfinder".Glorious CHAOS! 20:10, September 10, 2010 (UTC)

Even she call it lucky charm, besides her lucky charms have the ability to use D-Links an ability that Kairi's lucky charm don't have--Xabryn 20:20, September 10, 2010 (UTC)

...right, because she put a magic spell on them. That's not part of the charm, though.
"Somewhere out there, there's this tree with star-shaped fruit. And the fruit represents an unbreakable connection. So as long as you and your friends carry good luck charms shaped like it, nothing can ever drive you apart. You will always find your way back to each other. An unbreakable connection."
She is saying "I made some of these things I was talking about". She never says "And I named them specially" - the game tells you what they are called. There is no reason to believe that "Wayfinder" only applies to her specific version - the name even represents the fictional legend behind the one Kairi made, too.Glorious CHAOS! 20:43, September 10, 2010 (UTC)

"So this isn't a real good luck charm?"-Ventus Besides look at the description of the charm "One of three good luck charms Aqua made for herself and her friends the day before the Mark of Mastery exam."--Xabryn 22:40, September 10, 2010 (UTC)

Right, they are not made correctly, just as Stitch's isn't made correctly. They are still the same kind of thing, and Lucky Charm isn't an official name in the first place.Glorious CHAOS! 22:48, September 10, 2010 (UTC)

Fine then, but wait doesn't that mean that Namine's lucky charm is a wayfinder too? it had the shape of a Paopu Fruit--Xabryn 01:17, September 11, 2010 (UTC)

I thought it was just a golden star, like with the Wishing Star keychain. They don't seem to ever mention the Paopu legend with those, do they?Glorious CHAOS! 17:47, September 11, 2010 (UTC)
Hers doesn't even technically exist, does it? It was just her changing the shape of Kairi's.LapisLazuliScarab17:55, September 11, 2010 (UTC)

The Paopu Fruit is a yellow star they have the same shape and I think that it was suppose to be the same charm only with different shapes EDIT:It exits Lapis but it is a illusion --Xabryn 17:56, September 11, 2010 (UTC)

That was kind of my point. It literally is just Kairi's lucky charm/Wayfinder with a different shape. Namine's version is just an illusion, i.e. it doesn't exist.LapisLazuliScarab18:02, September 11, 2010 (UTC)

2 Questions...[edit]

I was wondering, in Kingdom Hearts, when Sora goes and talks to Kairi and she says she is making a thing of those shells, is she making a Wayfinder?? And also, the picture on here kinda stinks, so can we put a picture of Kairi's Wayfinder on here?? Thanks.

Naminé's Luck Charm[edit]

So, in response to Kryten unlinking the Wayfinder's link to the words "lucky charm", I decided to to ask this: While I know that Naminé's luck charm is similar to a Wayfinder, I linked it there because any information about the charm, including its render image, is on the Wayfinder's article. So, I didn't see the problem with using it as a link, because the article itself is the one hosting the info on it. However, given what Kryten said, should we just make a separate article for it? I don't think it's really necessary, but what about everyone else think?

From above, there seems to have been a small debate about the charm, too, so it'd be good to finally come a decision about it.

Well, "Lucky Charm" redirects to the Wayfinder page, so using that is better than using [[Wayfinder|lucky charm]].

I didn't realize how much of the lucky charm info was on this page already. While what Namine's lucky charm is "supposed" to be is unrelated to the Wayfinders, the fact that she uses a Wayfinder as the base makes their stories inextricably linked. Ideally, we'd be able to create an article on "Namine's lucky charm", but there's precious little, if anything, that can be said about it that doesn't already have to be said here. I'm withdrawing my objection to that piped link, although as Silent pointed out, the links work regardless so there's not a huge need to change it back."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 16:03, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
Okay, I'll link it back, then. The link is still red, so if we don't want the pipelinking, then I can make a new redirect to the Wayfinder's article or just capitalize the initials (I prefer the pipelinking, really). Oh, I would like to point out if we do make a separate if little information on Naminé's lucky charm, then it I don't it should any different from how there's an article for items like Auron's Statue or Roxas's Picture (which needs to fill in). Again, I think it's unnecessary. Naminé's lucky charm, as Kryten said, "the fact that she uses a Wayfinder as the base makes their stories inextricably linked", so there really isn't a need to make a separate article.--NinjaSheik 19:24, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
Personally, I think we should use redirects over piped links, like we do on most pages. Isn't that why we have redirects like "lucky charm" in the first place? TheSilentHero 19:35, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
Well, that's another subject altogether, so we shouldn't talk about it here. Either way, it doesn't matter. All wikis use both, and in the end, they all go back to the same article.--NinjaSheik 19:45, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
