Template:Enemy Chien Po is a character from Kingdom Hearts II. He is one of three aspiring warriors who joined the Imperial army of the Land of Dragons, alongside Ling and Yao.

Story

Kingdom Hearts II

Chien Po stands and watches as Sora and Donald fights Yao and Ling.

Chien Po first appears at the Encampment along with Yao and Ling. While Yao and Sora fight amongst themselves, Chien Po stands in the middle wondering what is for dinner. He later appears at the Summit, supporting Yao and Ling. After the defeat of Shan-Yu, Chien Po can be found outside of the Village Cave.

After Sora has returned home to Destiny Islands, Chien Po and the others are seen spying on Mulan and Li Shang, who are about to kiss when they are interrupted by the Chien Po, Ling, and Yao toppling over.

Appearance

Chien Po is a large man in both height and weight that dresses in Chinese armor. Chien Po's armor is mostly colored in shades of blue and grey, and his helmet has a red tassel on top of it. Despite his large, round face, Chien Po's eyes, nose, mouth, and eyebrows are all quite small. His eyes are always squinted and he has rosy cheeks. He carries a Jian with a gold guard and pommel and a black hand grip. He appears to be a huge eater; proof of this is his large stature. His first line in the game also hints to his eating habits: "I wonder what they're serving for lunch today?". Yao then replies, "Knuckle sandwiches!". It is apparent that he would rather sit and have a good meal than to involve himself in the squabbles with his fellow soldiers, hence his size.

Personality

Chien Po is the calm, prophetic friend of Yao and Ling. When compared to his partners he is the most naïve; however, he is very good-natured and seeks to do no harm. Chien Po's main personality is that of a "gentle giant", while possessing immense strength, he prefers to remain neutral in many situations. Chien Po has been shown to be naive, as he remains unaware of the fight between Sora, Donald, Ling, and Yao, only knocking them aside with his huge body.

Origin

Chien Po originates from the Disney movie Mulan and its sequel, Mulan II. At the start of the first film, Chien Po is, along with his friends Yao and Ling, a recruit in Li Shang's troops at training camp to prepare China from the upcoming war against the Huns and its leader, Shan-Yu. There, the trio meet Mulan (disguised as a man under the alias Ping). When Mushu (Mulan's dragon guardian) insults Yao, Chein Po and the other troops were quickly taken in a full-out brawl when Yao begins a fight with Mulan, thinking that she was the one who insulted him. As a result, the recruits are given a harsh punishment, causing Ling and his friends to take a dislike to Mulan and continually harass her, although Chien Po merely watches from the sidelines. However, Mulan quickly earns the trio's respect once she completed a challenge Shang set up for the troops. On the night Chein Po and the others went to take a bath with Mulan (who was uncomfortable due to having to hide her gender), they reconcile with her and genially reintroduced themselves. Soon after, Ling and the other recruits completed their training, and are called to the war front (due to Mushu's meddling).

After a long march to a mountain summit, the troops came across a destroyed village and were sent out to search for survivors. Chien Po finds the body of Shang's father, General Li, and sadly brings back the general's helmet as proof. The troops are then ambushed by the Huns and when Mulan runs with the last cannon in an attempt to destroy them, the trio follow. However, they swiftly hide behind a rock when a large avalanche begins to come down. When Mulan and Shang were swept away to the edge of a cliff by the avalanche, Chien Po and the troops to pull the pair to safety with a rope. When Mulan's identity as a female was exposed, the trio display visible shock and was sadly force to leave her behind on the summit to return to the Imperial City. When the Emperor was kidnapped by Shan-Yu, Shang and the trio choose to follow Mulan's plan to rescue him. By dressing up as concubines, they were able to sneak into the palace and knock out the guards. Once the Emperor was out of harm's way, Chien Po and the others leave, and are forced to look on as Mulan becomes trapped with Shan-Yu. After Shan-Yu's defeat, Chien Po and the others come to Mulan's defense from Chi-Fu's rantings. When Mulan was named a hero by the Emperor, Chien Po and everyone else present bow to Mulan in respect.
