The trio struggle in their fight against Axel. Eventually Axel stops the fight, congratulating Sora for passing this test. Tossing Sora another card, Axel questions whether Sora still remembers what is most important to him. Axel explains that the most precious of memories lie deep within a person's heart, just out of reach. He continues, claiming Sora can find such sleeping memories. Sora refuses Axel's offer of a hint, determined to figure them out himself. Before leaving Axel gives Sora a final piece of advice: when the sleeping memories awaken, Sora may no longer be himself.
Axel warps to another room in the Castle, finding a lounging Larxene. Larxene teases Axel's gentle manner with Sora, which Axel brushes aside. Axel comments how he is interested in the heart of the Keyblade's chosen. The mysterious man from before soon arrives, revealing himself to be Marluxia. Marluxia states that the mysteries of the heart is the purpose of the Organization, and soon Sora will start remembering Namine. The young girl in white is shown again, still sketching.
Meanwhile, Sora, Donald, and Goofy prepare to enter the next world. Jiminy appears, worried about Axel's parting comment. Sora easily dismisses the concern. Goofy asks the others about their time spent in another [[Hollow Bastion|castle]]. Despite their efforts, no one can remember the castle's name. Jiminy goes to check his journal only to find it completely empty. The group safely concludes that they are indeed losing their memories...
