The village will have a Moogle Shop and a save point, so save the game and check the Moogle Store to replenish supplies and hand in Materials. After that, go into the cave and walk to the end. However, you'll soon realize that it's empty. Suddenly, {{Wtext|Shan-Yu|c}} will send in a horde of {{Wtext|Shadows|e}} and {{Wtext|Assault Riders|e}} to attack {{Wtext|Sora|c}} and {{Wtext|Ping|c}}. Because {{Wtext|Donald|c}} and {{Wtext|Goofy|c}} are sealed out of the battle, neither one of them will be active in the battle.

| After the battle, {{Wtext|Yao|c}} will bring in a rocket cannon and plans to shoot {{Wtext|Shan-Yu|c}} with it. {{Wtext|Ping|c}}, however, has a different idea. He snatched the rocket and using {{Wtext|Mushu|c}}, he lights up the rocket, sending it (with {{Wtext|Mushu|c}} still on it) towards the mountain, causing an avalanche and presumally killing Mushu. This sends {{Wtext|Shan-Yu|c}} off the cliff to his assumed death, and just after the Captain congratulates Ping for finishing off {{Wtext|Shan-Yu|c}}, {{Wtext|Mushu|c}} pops out of the snow (revealing that he survived) and blows {{Wtext|Ping|c}}'s secret: He is really a she, and her real name is {{Wtext|Mulan|c}}.

| Furious, the Captain expels {{Wtext|Mulan|c}} from the army, and does the same to {{Wtext|Sora|c}}, {{Wtext|Donald|c}} and {{Wtext|Goofy|c}} (who knew the truth), rather than execute them. Because her secret has been exposed, {{Wtext|Mulan|c}} takes her armor off and decided to go home. At this point, the game will say "Ping has gone back to being Mulan. Mulan learned a new ability". From now on, {{Wtext|Mulan|c}} will use her real name in gameplay stats. Her limit is now unlocked, and can be used in battle. Just before you regain control of the party, tutorials will appear to tell you about limits and switching party members (unless you have already been to {{Wtext|Beast's Castle|l}}).

Use {{Wtext|Fire|a}} to deal with the {{Wtext|Nightwalkers|e}}, and attack the {{Wtext|Bolt Towers|e}} with meel damage (as they are immune to magic). Another solution is to use {{Wtext|Mulan|c}}'s limit; {{Wtext|Red Rocket|a}}, which can do quite a lot of damage if your levels are high enough<!--like around, say, level 17? - Uxie--><!--.
