Alright, its a new day, my sleeping schedule is messed up and i just threw my 18 year old sister out of my room for the millionth time. Lets continue. Please excuse the fact for now that there wont be any pictures, it wont work for me for some reason i don't know why, i need to look into it.

The Land of Dragons

Lets join the army

Well we meet up with Mushu a summon in the previous game and Mulan, *cough* excuse me, Ping.

I guess a character box is in order?

Party Member : Ping
Ping KHII.png

Weapon: Sword of the Ancestors

Type: Physical

Limit: None

For now i am simply gonna explain Ping's abilities as a party member, story stuff and origin can wait for a bit later.

Ping sucks as a party member, literally sucks! He is slow, has low damaging attacks and trips over his own feet.

Ping has no limit (for now) which makes Him even more useless if possible.

Ping has two horrible abilities, Draw and Item Boost which don't help at all in battle.

But you can probably guess why Ping sucks so much, being a young man with no combat experience but about to join the army...mhm.

And unfortunately we cant switch Him out until later, and since we got Cure in Beast's Castle we don't really need Donald for now, so switch Goofy in for a better party and Valor form.

Look around you for a moment. Treasure Chests, yay! They contain nothing new tough. You will also see a Synthesis Shop. Not much to buy unless you have the munny for it buy a Abas Chain for Sora and maybe the Elven Bandanna's for the rest. Be sure to go into the Synthesize option to hand over all your materials. Be sure to always hand over your materials when near a Synthesis Shop

Alright lets continue. Run to the line of soldiers to trigger a amusing cutscene. Now prepare to witness the suckyness of Ping.

Let me note a rather annoying new heartless called the Nightwalker, they aren't that dangerous but they got a nasty counterattack. In this battle you have a morale gauge, as the game explains you have to keep it up, its a minor task so just focus on defeating the Heartless. You get a map of the surrounding areas after the cutscenes.

Missions

And now its time for some missions, talk to Li Shang to select one. Lets just start at the first one The Surprise Attack its a simple as fighting a group of Heartless. Again the morale gauge is in play but you will be swimming in them so don't focus too much on it.

Now for The Ambush, in this one another new Heartless appears, this one is big somewhat annoying but not something to worry much about, The Assault Rider, they have a nasty spin attack but aren't much of a challenge.

Lastly The Search, this one takes place in the camp itself, there are a few heartless hidden around and you need to defeat them, this is the only time where the morale gauge actually is something to pay attention to, but the Heartless themselves almost seek you out so this one is not very hard either.

As a reward we get a AP Boost.

Now go north to the Checkpoint you have been fighting on for the past few minutes, you may or may not have noticed that there are a number of chests here, again they contain nothing new. As always there are Heartless to pound to the ground. Now go up the mountain.

Here is a annoying task, basically use the RC to break those stone walls to get to the mountain summit, there will be Heartless to annoy you, but you can take care of them and then break the walls, along the way there will be loads of chests around, feel free to grab them if you wish. You get the map of the Village up a head.

There is another Synthesis Store so hand over all your materials, this Moogle has nothing new to sell.Save up! with the save point that's nearby.

Spam spam spam

Following Mushu's story, go into the cave. A Hi-Potion and a AP Boost are in the chests up against the cave's walls. If you are low on the Drive Gauge you can destroy those rockets and the other thing for a goldmine of Drive Orbs. Continue deeper into the cave. But before heading into the big room at the end be sure to put the Fire spell in your shortcut menu, it will save you some trouble.

Well we got tricked, Donald and Goofy wont be in this battle cause they are behind..some magic wall. So its just you...oh and Ping, once again I will remind you on how hard Ping sucks, he will maybe get a hit or two on a couple of Shadows but will other wise fall down or get smacked in the head as usual. I hope you put on the Fire spell like I told you, cause its time for SPAM! Yep just spam the hell out of that thing until your MP is dry, whack the Heartless around until your MP is back, there will be an Assault Rider or two but you know how to handle those right?

As a reward we get:

  • Sora: Slide Dash!
  • Ping: HP Boost
  • Ping: Hyper Healing

Once you regain control I recommend you put on your new Slide Dash and Hyper Healing if you can. Now lets get out of this cave and literally never come back!

Such a shame that the village was destroyed, I liked it, anyway up the mountain we go!

For some reason we can defy and logic and gravity (like we haven't done that already) and ride the wind..literally. You can use the RC to jump into the wind and ride it, use it and fly into Heartless to suck them up into the wind, then use the next RC to jump into the air and deal a combo to them, nifty. Chests hold another Hi-Potion and another AP Boost.

Killing Spree

Up on the top of the mountain we get a fun battle. The point is to "survive" for a minute but that wont be a problem, to us its just a killing spree and free exp, go nuts. Note that you have no party members tough. Oh and while in the menu just before the menu you may want to equip the Reaction Boost cause we are going to be using the RC's Speed Trap and Aero Blade. The Fire spell also works well here.

The gig is up! Ping is a girl NO! WE DID SO NOT KNOW THAT! So we get kicked out of the army after defeating Shan-Yu and saving Shang's life, geez isn't he thankful. But anyway now Ping becomes Mulan again, but this time she wont suck so god damn hard! Now she can actually fight without tripping every few seconds, and she got new abilities including Mushu Fire, Flametongue and Dragonblaze Dragonblaze is an awesome limit (and may I say its name is awesome too), test it out on some unlucky Heartless that come by your way. Unlike Beast keep Auto-Limit on.

Preparation

Now lets go down the mountain again. Ok so we didn't kill Shan-Yu but we saved Shang! Anyway keep heading down the mountain. In the Village it might be wise to Save.

Going down the Mountaintrail I want to do another Level check up. Right now my party is in the lv16-17 regions which truthfully is a bit overleveled. I recommend 13-15 or so.

Shan-Yu

The door in Checkpoint has opened up so lets go shall we? It leads to the Imperial City. Upon entering we get into a battle against our former comrades who turned into Heartless before our very eyes. A quick limit will finish it up, my battle barely lasted 10 seconds. Continue to the palace. Make sure you have a full Drive Gauge and MP bar before heading up the stairs. Now get ready to kick some ass!

Boss Battle : Shan-Yu
Shan-Yu KHII.png
HP: 442
Difficulty: 3/5
Reaction Commands: Press, Takedown

Ok so this battle's difficulty sorta depends on what method you use (like many of the games bosses). There is also the factor in this particular boss battle that we must defend the palace doors from Shan-Yu and his Heartless. Shan-Yu's falcon Hayabusa is also joining for this fight, but he is easily knocked out in a combo or two.

Start with either Limit or Valor Form, I recommend Valor since you need to gain so exp on that thing anyway. With Valor Form in play Goofy disappears of course (if Donald is in your party just go to the other battle menu select Party and replace Donald), now its a simple matter of going berserk on Shan-Yu not letting him take a breather. When Valor Form expires use the Dragonblaze Limit (Also known in the RC format as Red Rocket), this bouncy terror will make Shan-Yu's HP bar drop like a Paris Hilton's panties. If he isn't finished then do a few combos to finish him off.

Here is Shan-Yu's methods of attacking, usually he will just strike at you a few times but that can easily be dodged or parried, after a certain time tough he will be covered in dark aura, strengthening his attacks and making him more aggressive. Watch out for his jump attack as he leaps into the air and then crashes down with a wave of dark energy. Another would be where he jumps up with a spiral of attacks. Keep an eye out for the palace doors and your own HP bar.

Lets reap the rewards

For winning the battle we get the following.

  • Sora: HP Boost
  • Sora: Aerial Sweep!
  • Donald: HP Boost
  • Goofy: Goofy Turbo!
  • Mulan: HP Boost

And with that ladies and gentlemen The Land of Dragons is over, for completing the world we get the Hidden Dragon keychain, great if you love casting magic! On top of it all tough thanks to Shan-Yu's sword we unlocked a new gateway...sorta.

Silly old Bear

Now just before I wrap it all up I want to deal with the Winnie the Pooh sidequest.

After finishing The Land of Dragons we get a scene inside the gummy ship, and strangely this scene has talk bubbles AND voice acting, its always puzzled me why its like this, oh well. Anyway for some reason we are being pulled toward Hollow Bastion. Apparently Merlin summoned us to show us the Winnie the Pooh book, ah Winnie the Pooh, my favorite movies in childhood, also love the theme song. In my country he was called Bangsímon....yeah go figure. Anyway back to the game. The Winnie the Pooh book some of you may remember from the first game (along with Chain of Memories) was the sidequest which included collecting pages from the book from all the worlds. Well its returned but right now all the pages are intact and ready for us to go in. So speak to Donald.

Ok so on the giant book we have only one area available right now, so go to it. Ahh how I love the theme in this world, I swear I turn on my PS2 and go to this world for the sole purpose of hearing the theme music of this world. Fun Fact: The Attack button has be changed to Hit cause of the lack of violence in this world, yep no Heartless. Anyway before talking to Pooh open the chests around the area.

Whoa! For a moment I thought Pooh had obtained the ultimate power. But it was just Heartless from the outside, for some reason the Heartless are stealing the book, NOT ON MY WATCH! Beat the living crap out of them! I even cranked out Valor Form.

Ok so back in the book....it seems there are a lot of white black spots now, and only the first area remains, go in. Ok Déja Vú right here. Greet Pooh again.

Apparently Pooh's memory has been wiped blank...completely, not even remembering Piglet and hilariously calling Sora "Somebody-I-Dont-Know" oh that always cracks me up! Alright so the Heartless stole pages from the books and like the in the first game, we have to go and find them. You will usually find the Torn Pages in large chests like Maps. Finding all the maps and doing the sidequest is rather rewarding as it gives you many items, plus the many mini-games of this world are kinda fun and a nice breather from the usual.

On another note Merlin decides to give us the Baseball Charm, basically summons like the previous game, summons work a lot like Limits but are generally weaker, except for Genie but he comes up later. The one we got includes Chicken Little from a movie of the same name, the movie came out in 2005 which is like a year before the game came out I think, meaning he is the most recently made character to appear in the game, this summon is a bit weird and weak. It includes you taking Chicken Little's perspective and it turns into a First Person Shooter, you shoot out baseballs out firecrackers or something, try it out for fun.

With that done we are back in the world map. Save up! (press the pause button and press save if you did not know that). Our next world will be the Olympus Coliseum which is in the south-east corner, so clear trough Phantom Storm and get ready for the next world.

This is D.Dark and I am OUT!
