These large aerial Heartless use their potent whirlwind breath to attack their prey.
They are hard to hit in mid-flight, so strike their wings and tail to force them to land, then focus attacks on their head, which is weak against Thunder magic.

The Windstorm is an Emblem Heartless that is found in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. It is a boss fought at the Halloween Town Square in Halloween Town.

Design

A Windstorm is a large, draconian creature with predominantly faded green skin on its back and white skin on its underbelly. Its shoulders and feet are black and its legs are striped with bright mint green. Its body is rather thin, while its feet are quite large and have a peculiar shape, each one consisting of only two black claws; a large front one and a small rear one. The Windstorm's tail is long and ends in a large, bent hook. Its wingtips, which are bright mint green, end in small hooks. Its head sports two short horns above each of its eyes that point forward. Its beady yellow eyes are on either side of its head. The Windstorm's Heartless emblem is displayed on its chest.

The Windstorm's name refers to its wind-based attacks.

Strategy

This Heartless is no easy opponent; especially when there are three of them, as they will all bombard Roxas with their attacks. The Detonator Heartless that appear alongside them can sometimes be a bit of a nuisance because they will be constantly exploding. Windstorms are extremely vulnerable to Thunder magic, so stock up on Thunder and cast it whenever given the chance. Don't forget to use the Limit Break, which can deal a great amount of damage. The best time to use it is when the Windstorms get knocked out of the air and are stunned on the ground. Make sure to equip Potions and Cure magic.
