To Even's surprise, [[Saïx]] gives him the chance to return to being a Nobody to complete his research on the [[Replica Program]]. Seeing it as his chance to atone for all the harm he caused others in the past, Even accepts and becomes Vexen again, becoming a reserve member of the [[real Organization XIII]].{{storylink|Secret Report 7}} At the [[Keyblade Graveyard]], Saïx questions the scientist's decision to abandon his humanity a second time; he adds that [[Axel]] gave him a second lease on life. Vexen lies that his research in completing the perfect vessel is all that matters to him.
