Track PlatesEdit

And done. All are now missing the text, resized, and universally aligned. Also uploaded a few I missed before. So mind telling me what you're planning on cooking up here lol? --Samoa Joe (talk) 05:44, 31 January 2021 (UTC)

Amazing work, thanks! And I'm glad you asked, because I'm super excited about this. So, I was planning an infobox for the MoM tracks, and I wanted to do something cool with those track plates by having the song title display on it. With (a lot of) help from Porple, we now have the actual font and we can make the text scrollable if it's too long, so it looks just like in the game! (The reason I wanted you to make all images the same size is that the text will show up in the same place for all of them.) Let me give you an example:

Doesn't this just look amazing?!

P.S.: The font is now installed on the wiki, in case you want to use it somewhere. TheSilentHero 10:58, 31 January 2021 (UTC)

Holy crap that looks awesome! I took felt that the plates were kind of wasted just sitting in world galleries, but this is taking it to the next level lol. P.S. If you want to add an extra touch of authenticity, ask Porple if it's possible to add a drop shadow to font. Aprox 55 degrees, size 0, 2-3 pixel space. :) --Samoa Joe (talk) 15:30, 31 January 2021 (UTC)
Just out of curiosity, are these planned to be implemented wikiwide? Or are they just for your userpage? --Samoa Joe (talk) 04:36, 6 February 2021 (UTC)
They will be used on Game: pages for each track. I'm just designing the infobox in my userspace. TheSilentHero 11:04, 6 February 2021 (UTC)

are Heartless on the Heartless page out of orderEdit

Some Heartless on the Heartless page appear to be out of order. Some are not with their variations in accordance to their own pages (such as the Armor Heartless from 358/2 Days, Wily Bandit, Huge Snowman, Ferocious Fins, Shipwreck Shark, Icy Beast, Royal Pretender, Poisonous Pretender, and Ratty Rat Trio) while others are in other variations (such as Diver being with the Air Soldier and Toy Trooper even though its own page lists it as a variation of the Soldier Heartless). Should we fix this?Ctc1017 (talk) 20:25, 27 February 2021 (UTC)

The Armor Heartless should be with the Large Body, yes. The KHUX Heartless you mentioned are boss-type Heartless, which are put at the bottom (though there's not a real distinction between regular and boss enemies in KHUX), and I guess the Diver has been misplaced. TheSilentHero 22:33, 27 February 2021 (UTC)
Where should the Diver be? With the Soldier variations or the Air Soldier variations? I have a similar problem with Toy Trooper since nobody has listed it as a variation of either Soldier or Air Soldier. I also believe the Defender variations should be before the Wyvern variations in line with how the Defender is listed before the Wyvern in Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories. Also the Flappy Bug Swarm, Gold Hammer Frame, Silver Hammer Frame, Reversed Defender, and Upright Defender are listed as bosses in the Heartless boss directory, but are not in bold text and all but the Flappy Bug Swarm are listed with basic Heartless even though they are boss-type Heartless. Should the Gold Hammer Frame, Silver Hammer Frame, Reversed Defender, and Upright Defender be moved downwards with the other boss Heartless on the page.Ctc1017 (talk) 01:05, 28 February 2021 (UTC)
The Diver should be with the Soldier variations. I'm not sure about the Toy Trooper myself. I can see how it looks a little like the Air Soldier (pre-KH3), especially with the goggles, but Soldiers and Air Soldiers all have claws and the Toy Trooper has normal hands, so it might be a unique Heartless.
Yes, the in-game order is Defender, Wyvern, Wizard, so we should follow that.
Like I said, the distinction between regular and boss Heartless in KHUX is pretty vague. I think it would be better to only count Raid Bosses as boss-type, and all others as regulars.
While you're at it, I noticed the Nimble Bee and Stinging Bee were with the Queen Bee, but they should be with the regular Heartless. Also, I don't think the Bizarre Archer is a variation of the KHUX Archers.
You know, maybe it would be easier to change the whole order to list them by first appearance instead of variations. But that would need to be discussed on the talk page first. TheSilentHero 13:42, 28 February 2021 (UTC)

Fly-by/By KnightEdit

I wasn't aware it was in KHuX, since that's the most recent one, (medal was released Jan 2021) should we use lowercase? (Unless we go by KHuX release date.) I can go through the trouble of reestablishing the lowercase if need be.  Chainoffire  21:43, 16 August 2021 (UTC)

Hmm, I'm not sure. TheSilentHero 17:06, 17 August 2021 (UTC)

Integrum MasterpieceEdit

This is regarding the Integrum Masterpieces page you put up earlier. Typically when we have a collection like this, we either put up the logo or the box-art in the infobox, but this one has neither. However, each individual collection/game does have its own slightly unique cloud version logo. I was wondering, is it possible to set up a tabber in the infobox that can toggle the logo being displayed? Like a...like a keyblade infobox? --Samoa Joe (talk) 02:44, 20 January 2022 (UTC)

That should be possible, yes. I can add it later. TheSilentHero 11:20, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
Very cool. The logos were uploaded some time ago, over in logo images. --Samoa Joe (talk) 20:23, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
I think it looks better to display the three images together like this, rather than using tabs. What do you think? TheSilentHero 11:21, 21 January 2022 (UTC)
Ehhhh... I dunno. If you're gonna display all three logos, why not just use the store image then? --Samoa Joe (talk) 15:42, 21 January 2022 (UTC)
Maybe that would be better, since it's used officially. TheSilentHero 18:05, 21 January 2022 (UTC)
I agree, since I've seen a similar bundle pack image used for the Mega Man 30th Anniversary bundle pack on the Mega Man wiki, and that was just from the same thing of sourcing the image on the Playstation and Microsoft Online stores which I helped with the sourcing back then. -Adv193 (talk) 18:16, 21 January 2022 (UTC)
I'll second - or third - that. --Samoa Joe (talk) 20:39, 21 January 2022 (UTC)

Re Mind InfoboxEdit

So I...admit that I haven't been around here that much lately and I've been quite a bit out of the loop lol. But I just noticed that Re Mind's infobox has been changed to the regular game default one. I tweaked that one (and colored to green) when I worked on the page way back when specifically to differentiate it as a DLC expansion rather than an actual game and for future uses with other stuff that might need it. So...like, what's changed? Why, and when lol? --Samoa Joe (talk) 14:56, 7 March 2022 (UTC)

Well, since a little while ago we have a new style template to use for infoboxes and tables to give the wiki a more consistent color scheme, where each game gets its own colors. So everything related to KH3 uses the same colors. And as such, both templates would be identical, which is why I changed it to the game one. I hadn't considered the game/DLC differentiation, to be honest, so maybe we could do something different besides the colors. TheSilentHero 17:41, 7 March 2022 (UTC)

Kingdom Hearts 3 Keyblade imagesEdit

I noticed that several images in the Keyblades infoboxes still don't have images from 3. Should they still be there?--Yellowlightning1996 (talk) 04:21, 16 March 2022 (UTC)

We should try to get these images, but I'll modify the template so it doesn't show a red link if we don't have the image. TheSilentHero 13:44, 16 March 2022 (UTC)

Wiki redesignEdit

Just a quick heads up, but I've started on a new layout design inspired by/based on the 20th Anniversary. Current layout is based on Melody of Memory and it seems about time to retire it. Are there any particular elements or concepts you want, or should I just have at it? --Samoa Joe (talk) 17:53, 28 March 2022 (UTC)

I can't think of anything at the moment, so surprise me. TheSilentHero 17:56, 28 March 2022 (UTC)
And done! Decent enough? --Samoa Joe (talk) 19:22, 28 March 2022 (UTC)
Looks good! I like the gold parts. The only thing that bothers me is the way the background repeats itself in the Trinity Archives box. TheSilentHero 19:47, 28 March 2022 (UTC)
Ah, you mean how all of the boxes repeat it? That specific background code was set up by Porple to be specific to those kinds of boxes, hence it will always repeat, and unfortunately I don't think there's any way to work around it. :< I could set it up so it's the same as the monaco background. The repeat won't be as obvious, but it won't be half as unique looking though. --Samoa Joe (talk) 20:03, 28 March 2022 (UTC)
The background repeated itself in the one box, but Porple already fixed it. TheSilentHero 20:06, 28 March 2022 (UTC)
Oh! I didn't catch that! But alright, he has my thanks! --Samoa Joe (talk) 20:24, 28 March 2022 (UTC)

Lock down the townEdit

I think it might be a good idea to prevent anyone other than site staff from creating new pages for the next 24 hours or so. With new game announcements on the horizon, things are gonna get weird and scattered; new users are gonna flock with registrations, old inactive accounts will spring back to life, and everyone which-way is gonna be making pages for the new stuff. This might help keep things a bit more orderly. --Samoa Joe (talk) 04:42, 10 April 2022 (UTC)

I don't think that will be necessary for now. We'll see what happens first. TheSilentHero 05:43, 10 April 2022 (UTC)
So much for not necessary lol... Maybe you should unlock those two pages for site staff and janitors? I can't add links to the official websites. --Samoa Joe (talk) 13:01, 11 April 2022 (UTC)
It's not that bad so far, I think...
Unfortunately I can only unlock those pages for staff only or all auto-confirmed users, but I'll ask Porple to give Janitors the right to edit protected pages. TheSilentHero 14:52, 11 April 2022 (UTC)
Thanks! --Samoa Joe (talk) 16:03, 11 April 2022 (UTC)

Inaccurate InfoEdit

The locations on the Attack Card page for Diamond Dust and One-Winged Angel are incorrect as they can easily be purchased at a Moogle Shop after defeating Marluxia the first time (which I verified not too long ago). Can you think of a solution to fix this info? -Adv193 (talk) 20:30, 8 May 2022 (UTC)

I did some checking in the Ultimanias, and I think I know where it went wrong. Diamond Dust and One-winged Angel are listed as the signature Attack cards of Castle Oblivion and Twilight Town, with the defeat Marluxia unlock condition as note. Now, signature attack cards (like Lady Luck or Olympia) can only be found in their respective worlds through random drops and treasures. And that is why we presumed they had to be obtained there. However, and this is where it went wrong, to unlock such a signature attack card, you don't need to obtain it in such a world, the unlock condition is stated as simply visiting the world. And the unlock condition for those two Keyblades is to defeat Marluxia.
So, long story short, they are unlocked after defeating Marluxia, and can only be found as drops/treasures in those worlds, but you can get them from a Moogle Shop as well, since you unlocked them and card packs contain all unlocked cards. I'll go ahead and fix things. TheSilentHero 17:35, 9 May 2022 (UTC)
Well I figured they were random drops because of think I came across that a long time ago, but yeah at least I confirmed that just like the Marluxia Enemy Card, those cards are also first available after defeating him the first time (which also technically includes the unlockable cards if a completed game file of R/R is available. -Adv193 (talk) 18:40, 9 May 2022 (UTC)

Sea-salt ice creamEdit

Hey there!

Can you please tell me why my edits to the sea-salt ice cream page were reversed? --Mikoto (talk) 22:16, 28 May 2022 (UTC)

Well, we prefer to not have any trivia sections on pages. Also, what you wrote was basically speculation as to what it referred to exactly. TheSilentHero 22:51, 28 May 2022 (UTC)
I get that, but would it be okay to have the part about it being mentioned in DuckTales, at least? ('In the DuckTales first-season finale "The Shadow War!", Mrs. Beakley makes Huey, Dewey, and Louie a dessert using sea-salt ice cream, saying it was Scrooge's favorite and a "common farewell ice cream in certain parts"'.) The article for Kingdom Key D mentions its appearance in that Mickey Mouse cartoon. Also, what was wrong with adding photos of the real thing? --Mikoto (talk) 03:31, 29 May 2022 (UTC)
The problem with sea-salt ice cream is that it isn't exclusive to KH, so it's hard to tell if it's a reference or not. However, since we also mention it in the KH references in other media page, I guess it's fine to add it under an Other appearances section.
As for those photos, they aren't related to KH. They show sea-salt ice cream, but not in the way it is shown in the series. TheSilentHero 11:12, 29 May 2022 (UTC)
Yes, sea-salt ice cream exists out of KH, but considering they said it's specifically Scrooge's favorite dessert, it has to be a KH reference.
They're not the same exact sea-salt ice cream in the series, but they are the real world version from Tokyo DisneySea that inspired Nomura to add the food to the games. That's not relevant? --Mikoto (talk) 23:51, 29 May 2022 (UTC)
In my opinion, it's not relevant. But if you want, you can ask for more opinions on the talk page or the Discord. TheSilentHero 17:07, 30 May 2022 (UTC)

Soul Eater QuestionEdit

I checked both my copies of Chain of Memories and Re:Chain of Memories and unlike Jiminy's Journal, the D-Report does have a Strike ranking (which is understandable why due to the difference in gameplay). Do you think we can remove that from the Soul Eater page as the D+ ranking does not come from an official source? -Adv193 (talk) 17:31, 23 July 2022 (UTC)

I just checked the Ultimania, and it actually has stats for the Soul Eater. Not just Strike, but the others as well. So I'll add those to the page. TheSilentHero 17:41, 23 July 2022 (UTC)

Username changeEdit

Hello, I am a user from the old wiki and formerly served as an ambassador between; currently on the original wiki, I've changed my name and would like to change my username here for consistency. Would you happen to know if this is possible, and whom would I ask to update my username? Thanks! The Silver wings of night 00:35, 31 August 2022 (UTC)

Hi there. It sure is possible, and you've come to the right person for it. Just let me know what you want your new username to be and I'll change it. TheSilentHero 08:13, 31 August 2022 (UTC)
Thank you! I would like my new username to be Nightsilver. The Silver wings of night 19:52, 31 August 2022 (UTC)
Done. Please make sure to follow our Signature policy. TheSilentHero 21:00, 31 August 2022 (UTC)

Let's have a quick talkEdit

Hi.
So, you obviously saw my edit summary deleting my talk page. Believe me when I say that I get it's a rule. That said, I reiterate that that isn't particularly a concern of mine when it comes to this. As someone with moderating experience elsewhere (not necessarily on a fan wiki), I have to pose the question, and I ask sincerely - can you consider using discretion to cast aside "typical procedure", for lack of a better term, if in fact, such a thing has no value?
I realize it's a big ask to place your trust in me when I explain that I've come here after nearly a decade of inactivity (feel free to check my contributions) with the sole intent of tying some loose ends and erasing some embarrassments from my childhood. Or maybe you can believe that and you don't really care. But naturally, the question that pops up is this: what benefit does it give an independently run Kingdom Hearts fan wiki to retain old talk page messages from someone who was a child at the time (and really should not have had an account here), and what would it lose in terms of serving its purpose - IE, a collection of information on Kingdom Hearts - if a talk page maybe five or six people in the world are aware exists? One of whom is actively bothered by its existence as a reminder of a time I was acting as a petulant child.
Of course, I will defer to your decision if you decide that everything must be played exactly by the book, to the letter of the law. I could go on some rambling essay begging for some jury nullification, but the only other thing I'll say is that in my experience, it's often just as much, if not more, of a meaningful but weighted decision to be made when you choose whether a rule, however large or small, can be overlooked on rare occasion.
As I said, whatever decision you make, I'll abide by that. I hope your day finds you well.
Mar 20:06, 16 September 2022 (UTC)

Hi there. Sorry for the late reply, but I figured I'd discuss this with some other staff members first. And while we get that some things in the past are embarrassing, we do think it's better to stick to our policy. TheSilentHero 17:00, 18 September 2022 (UTC)
There is also nothing on your talk page that reveal your private identity, so no one should really be able to trace that talk page back to whoever you are. Also, even if we were to clear your talk page everything would still be accessible by going through the page's history anyways, unfortunately. I doubt anybody you know IRL or online will ever go to your talk page and judge it; let alone find it. And if anybody judges you for things you did/said as a child/teen then to hell with them. - Joseph Thorn Dalton XCV  18:13, 18 September 2022 (UTC)
Very well. I suppose the rationale given by both of you is fair enough, and as I said, though I wish it were otherwise and I could just bury it completely, I will comply. Though I am admittedly surprised this was considered something worthy of discussion among staff. I suppose I'm flattered. That's at least a step up from "this kid is trolling the site. Why should we not permaban him?" At any rate, I wish you well. Thank you for your time and consideration - Mar 00:16, 19 September 2022 (UTC)

"Re:coded" romaji fieldEdit

Hi, the way you're doing things makes it seem like the "Re" in "Re:coded" is pronounced as れ in Japanese when it's actually pronounced り. When you combine English with romaji, it's no longer a romaji field. I went and checked other games and most of them have the same issue. I also think you should follow what Wikipedia does with romaji for games like KH II and III. I hope my point came across. --Zeta (talk) 00:03, 4 February 2023 (UTC)

I get where you're coming from, but the way I see it, romaji isn't showing pronunciation, but how something is written in Latin/Roman characters. That's why we don't change anything that's already written in Latin/Roman characters, or numbers. TheSilentHero 12:33, 4 February 2023 (UTC)

Image CategoriesEdit

Hey, quick question. I'm going through character images, and I'm finding some from one game, tagged with another game. For example, Jasmine_KH.png (from KH1) is also filed under COM and RE:COM, alongside KH1 (the game the render is actually from). Is this correct? --  mikoto 04:35, 19 May 2023 (UTC)

I think they added categories for all games the character appeared in at first. So, if you were looking at the CoM category, you'd see all characters from CoM, even if they didn't have new renders. However, I think we should only keep the categories where the render is from, as that is more accurate. TheSilentHero 10:27, 19 May 2023 (UTC)
Gotcha, then I'll start removing the superfluous categories. Also, shouldn't renders like Vexen_KHCOM.png be named Vexen_KHRECOM.png, instead? --  mikoto 21:33, 19 May 2023 (UTC)
I think those renders were made for the original CoM. I read that they first made renders for the new characters before making them into sprites. TheSilentHero 21:42, 19 May 2023 (UTC)

Dark-EnigmaXIII's RendersEdit

While going through image categories, I'm finding a bunch of unofficial renders by Dark-EnigmaXIII. These seem a bit... unnecessary, so I'm wondering if it'd be okay to remove them from catagories. --  mikoto 23:24, 23 May 2023 (UTC)

The only ones I deem necessary to keep are the ones that lack official renders, e. g. Apprentice Xehanort from BBS. There's an official one from KH2 but not one from BBS with a high poly face. Several of the characters from Castle of Dreams also lack original renders. These should also be kept imo. File:Anti Form (Render) KHII.png is an example of renders I personally see no need to keep. Not in the categories and not on the wiki at all. - Joseph Thorn Dalton XCV  23:37, 23 May 2023 (UTC)
Unofficial renders should be deleted. But, as JTD said, we can make an exception if there is no official render. TheSilentHero 17:19, 24 May 2023 (UTC)

WthEdit

What the hell, mang. We've added stuff from betas... We've always added stuff from betas, from Chi to Unchained. When did that ever change? --Samoa Joe (talk) 21:29, 3 December 2023 (UTC)

I don't remember how we handled KHX and KHUX, but the way I see it beta is not the actual release, so we should wait on covering it. TheSilentHero 23:17, 3 December 2023 (UTC)
We're...changing that on just a random whim? Just like that? I...ok. Whatever, I guess. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ --Samoa Joe (talk) 00:53, 4 December 2023 (UTC)
TSH is right. Also we didn't cover information on KHX or KHUX in mainspace when they were still in beta, only after the fact. Still, great work on the logo. They will probably not change it so we'll use it eventually.--ShardofTruth 17:25, 4 December 2023 (UTC)
I honestly could've sworn that we did, but I'm not gonna argue the point. It's not like we're gonna be waiting another two years for the wide release. --Samoa Joe (talk) 18:03, 4 December 2023 (UTC)

KHUX Keyblade amd Synthesis dataEdit

Since I'm currently going through all this stuff again I was wondering if we want to keep or display some of the KHUX Keyblade synthesis data on the respective material page before level 1-25 were significantly changed? For example Adamant was made obsolete so should the page only contain this information or also how it was used?. Also I'm not able to view the archive versions on the KHUX wiki anymore, maybe something's wrong on my end though, editing them still works somehow. Second question is what to do with the Keyblade data itself. Should it be updated to latest version (probably with combining levels for better readability) or should it stay it this way? What's your opinion on this dead game's content? --ShardofTruth 18:19, 5 December 2023 (UTC)

For materials, I think we should display what was required in the latest version, with a reference or note with what was required before. For materials that became obsolete, like the Adamantite, I think we should display what it was used for with a note at the top saying it was made obsolete from version x on.
For the Keyblades, ideally we should cover everything. However, there's no way we can stuff those long pages from the KHUX wiki in a single infobox. I'm not sure how well combining levels will work. And then there's still the Passives and Subslots. So I don't really know what to do with those. TheSilentHero 18:37, 5 December 2023 (UTC)
Regarding the KHUX wiki archive pages, it seems the template crashed. Probably because it's too long. When I remove a bunch of the code, the preview works again. TheSilentHero 18:43, 5 December 2023 (UTC)
