We've got Featured Media Voting going (kind of), userboxes are becoming more common, and we're going non-Kingdom Hearts image-free tomorrow, meaning if you've got anything you need to save in the image galleries, you'd better do it today (we had some folks abusing the policies, in case you're wondering). Oh, and we have three Mods now, Ultima, Troisnyxetienne, and Guardian Soul.

Since we have a group of editors with a good head (heads?) on their shoulders and we're making some big changes as is, why don't we make this our next issue to pound out? And out of curiousity, what is FFWiki's policies?

I have put up a References template on the Staleforce page (it was however removed by WoC so I just added it again) an, again, if no resource for the name turns up, then we'll move it to Ven's Keyblade, ya? I have left them both a message, and, at the time of writing, I've got no reply! what to do...? EDIT: Still no reply, but the info in Staleforce now reveals that the name is just a speculation! but shouldn't we move it to Ven's Keyblade? like we did with Enigma => Terra's Keyblade EDIT: Done! also created a page for Aqua's Keyblade!

CoM Worlds

HeartlessSlayer - You see, I want to help them because...because...well, they need us. TALK - *&&X% Here's a question. For a while, I have been concerned about the character listings in the worlds. But more importantly on the concerns about most of the worlds that were in CoM. For example, Even though Riku was in some worlds in KH1 such as Neverland, but he was never in other worlds such as Halloween Town. I know you go through the worlds in CoM and the remake but technically they weren't real so wouldn't that mean they were in Castle Oblivion all the time and not precisely in the actual worlds in CoM?

Hey, I was just wondering, how do you become an admins? Do you have to be on for a year, or something like that? Or is it one of thoses things where you have to buy your way in? And what are some advantages of being an admins besides being able to ban or block people? could someone, preferably an admins, tell me how to become one myself?

Lots of constructive Mainspace edits. In other words, useful contributions to articles. Must be of good character and is willing to interact well with other users (I'm sure you can handle that ^_^). Seriously though, what Azul and Troisnyx said. I was made an Admin on this wiki and another just by making lots of constructive edits, especially to articles that no one paid much attention to or to little details like Categories. The upside to being an admin for me are tools like reverting and blocking, since it makes issues easier to deal with. I don't like to ban people, but I'll do it if someone is being incredibly petty and/or rude. The downside is sometimes if something more controversial is happening (like people fighting over a big article), it seems like you spend more time being an administrator and can't contribute as much to the wiki itself. Luckily, the people on this wiki and the others I frequent are wonderfully nice people, so the downsides are pretty rare.

Oh, by the way, bebopkate, I just want to thank you in person (well, sort of) for un-banning me. And by the way, over in Azul's forums, I need some help making a template. could you help me out a bit?

Anyway, aren't wiki codes pretty universal? Contribute constructively, and if you don't, you're gone? About the only set rules we have are the three warnings, and the call a mod to mediate, and I really think that's enough. We don't want to make things too complicated or confusing or we might scare away potential wiki editors. After all, the idea of a wiki is anybody (yes, even...sigh, trolls) can edit. Still if majority says something formal should be put down, so be it. I just urge, based on both my wiki experience and experiences as a teacher, that it's kept short and simple.

We've got a vandal. He's coming under several IP adds (particularly 93.150.74.90) - but the first three sets of numbers apply in all cases. He's been making a mess in the List of Bosses and Template:Worlds pages. I managed to use rollback, but please take this guy out before anything worse happens. This monster... This is no Unversed. Just because we're kids doesn't mean we can't run a business— {{{time}}} take it easy! now, to beat Xaldin, see these things: Make sure you're on the proper level to beat him. I'd recommend having the Circle of Life keyblade equipped. (Since it is the strongest one you can have at this point and it gives you MP Haste, which is good for the fact that the MP gauge is recovered much faster!) Have as many combo pluses and combo abilities equipped as you can here! remember that you do not need any magical support abilities (except MP Haste (if you have that))! this is more of a physical battle than magical. Use the Beast+Sora limit break (forgot it's name) a lot! it can take out 1+ HP bar. Change the modes of your party members so that they heal you whenever you are in danger! Be sure to stock up on potions/hi-potions and even elixirs, just in case your party doesn't heal you. Make sure that you are ready to hit triangle every time "learn" is available! then you can do a combo that knocks him incognitos for some seconds! When you are low on HP, stay away from him! and if he does that mechanical laser attack thing, make sure that you're stand up to either the gate or the other gate (you stay at the place where the laser starts!) I guess that's pretty much it! let me know how it goes!

Well, he decided to talk to me on the Sims Wiki but because it was crashing, we exchanged MSN/YM adds... and when we talked, he revealed that he was the one who called Xiggie a pain in the you-know-where. I told him solemnly, "Please, don't remove it. I was the one who consented to it being there." And he went offline soon after. Seriously, what do we do with this kind of people ? This monster... I know sometimes age is to blame, but we have lots of wonderfully mature teens posting here, so that's really no excuse. As for what we do: revert it and ignore it. Seriously. It's quite easy for me; I can do it in person since I'd have to ignore certain attention-getting behaviors from my students. I can ignore a child screaming in my face, so ignoring someone on the internet and wiki is no problem for me. ^_^ I know sometimes it's hard not to take it personally, but really it's not directed at you or anyone else. Besides, you guys ARE going to run into people like this in real-life (if you haven't already), so chalk it up to practice for life experience and go about your normal Kingdom Hearts lovin' business.

I was just wondering about something... recently, I noticed that the Moderators had black Keyblades in their text boxes. And that got me thinking... just what is the journey from a beginning user to a moderator?

TALK - Here's your cat...and here's your $20...{{{time}}} It's a combination of two things: how busy a wiki is, and the capability of the editor in question. The first one is easy enough: the busier the wiki, the more help is needed to keep an eye on things. As for capability, while we do take the number of edits into account, we also look for those who make valuable or useful edits. For example, someone who goes around fixing broken links and categories, rewrites an article that needs help, or tinkers with tables to improve the format is someone any wiki would want to have on staff, because it shows an eye for detail. I first came in and started organizing the individual world articles, for example, as well as fixing little things around the wiki, like articles with missing categories; this is what got me noticed and eventually got me asked to be made an admin. It applies not just here, but any wiki really. Since we have a strong community within our wiki, I personally also look for editors who are happy to lend a hand to others, both seasoned editors and new folks alike. Based on the contributions you've been making, I'd say you are well on your journey. Keep it up, and the next time we call for mods, your name will definitely be under consideration. ^_^

I'm Back!

TALK - Here's your cat...and here's your $20...{{{time}}} You know, in case that huge reply to DoorToNothing wasn't a hint. ^_^ Animazement was a ton of fun; I'm pleased to say Kingdom Hearts is as popular as ever around here. I saw at least 3 Soras, 3 Kairis, 2 Rikus, 2 Roxases (Roxi?), and lost track of how many Organization XIII people were there. Alas, I missed the one KH panel they had, but made up for it by getting my mitts on Sora and Pete out of the new Formation Hearts figures in the dealers' room. One interesting tidbit I thought I'd pass along; I went to a voice acting panel, and they discussed Wayne Allwine a little bit; one of the VAs there mentioned it had been known within the VA community that he had been ill for a while, and that Disney was well into the process of seeking out a new Mickey when he passed on. The two conclusions I draw from this are: 1) that the Kingdom Hearts games will not suffer much (if any) delay, and 2) the possible new voice may have had the opportunity to get training from Mr. Allwine himself, much as Mr. Allwine was trained by Jimmy MacDonald, the second Mickey.

Lately she's been causing drama because she got banned from two other wikis, and feels that the admins at those wikis are just being unfair to her. I looked into the matter, and I found what she wrote to get herself banned, which involved cussing at the staff, like she once did to me before. So really, she deserved what she got, and I think it's terrible that she's stirring up drama with all of the members here, who are kind and sympathetic people, only trying to support her, even though she's telling lies. I also have to say that I don't believe her "sisters" are really sisters at all. How they write is quite similar, and I believe she uses them as back-ups so that she doesn't get in trouble and/or to receive more attention. I don't really know how to go about handling this, because I don't know if this deserves a warning or not, but what she's saying is just getting ridiculous and she's talking about dying just because of being banned from a wiki. I know she's just making things up and exaggerating because that's what kids do, but it's going to scare the younger and more trusting members. Please look into it.
