Chapter 12: The Key that Will Open the Door to Light, also called Chapter 12: Key to the Door of Light, is the twelfth chapter in the Kingdom Hearts II manga.
StoryEdit
At The Mysterious Tower, Pete sends a bunch of Shadows after Yen Sid. As the train with Sora, Donald, and Goofy in it arrives at the tower, a powerful explosion sounds. Pete leaves the tower, charred from the explosion, with Yen Sid telling him he'll never join them. As Pete prepares to leave through a Corridor of Darkness, threatening Yen Sid that Maleficent will turn him into a Heartless, Yen Sid informs him Maleficent is dead. Yen Sid spots Sora, Donald, and Goofy, and invites them inside.
Yen Sid tells Sora, Donald, and Goofy about the Nobodies, and Organization XIII. He explains Mickey is trying to figure out their intent. Donald immediately says he and Goofy are going to help Mickey. When Yen Sid asks Sora what he will do, Sora thinks about Kairi, who is waiting for him on the Destiny Islands, but says she'll have to wait a little longer, as he has yet to find Riku. Yen Sid calls on Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather to give Sora a new outfit, and shows Sora the Gummi Ship, which Mickey left behind. He informs Sora that the pathways between worlds have been closed, but that they can be opened by unlocking special gates. At last, Sora, Donald and Goofy fly off in the Gummi Ship.
Pete returns to Villain's Vale to see if Maleficent is really dead. As he looks for her, Maleficent's Raven appears with her cloak, causing Maleficent to reappear.
