Template talk:Delete

Should there not be a bit where you write a reason for deleting the article? I will try and get it done. Ultima The High Seraph 10:50, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

Technically, the reasons are all supposed to be on that pages for deletion page. XienZo 18:42, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

I mean like so you write the reason in the template. Here is what i came up with

So You Have come this far.
	This article/file is currently nominated for deletion: {{{reason}}} If you wish, please voice your opinion on its talk page. You may continue to edit this page, however, do not remove this notice until the discussion is closed.

Usage

This is a Template used to nominate articles and media files for deletion. To use, please type {{VFD}} at the top of an article. The template will automatically add articles to Category:Pages for deletion.

You are encouraged to write a reason for the deletion.

But that would go against the deletion policy of having deletion discussions in the KHWiki:Pages for deletion instead of the talk page, so we can see all the pages and reasoning in one place. XienZo 19:23, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

But if you go to a page needing deleted, say honey bees, and the reason is with this template at the top of the page, with this template, it makes it a lot easier, as you just write it all up with one swift edit. Ultima The High Seraph 19:26, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

Well, it'd make it easier for people who are just randomly checking pages, but it'll be harder for someone who's trying to deal with all the nominated articles at once. XienZo 19:47, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

Ok, how about a compromise. We keep putting reasons in the Pages for deletion page and we use the new template. Ultima The High Seraph 19:51, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

Oh Ultima, you are so sneaky. You dug yourself a pretty big hole by copying, and just reforming a template you stole from another wiki, it still says "VFD", srsly.

So, what Ultima is asking is this:

Just adding a reason so users don't have to put it in the edit summary, and viewers no why others want it deleted.  I Lion Heart I 20:25, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

Move to VFD

Azul81677 - "Ebil minds think ebily alike." - A collaboration between 2 very ebil minds TALK - {{{time}}} Does anyone care if I move it to VFD? Since Yuan, myself and others will be using this alot, it would be much easier if it was moved to VFD (Vote for Deletion), it's shorter and we are also use to using {{VFD}}. Any objections? If not, I will go ahead and move it.

Split

Should we maybe split the deletion policy into its own page, like we do with other site policies? KeybladeSpyMaster 23:11, 10 September 2014 (UTC)
