Second CastleEdit

Unbirth Discussion — Et moi, Jack, L'EPOUVANTAIL !

Ils me trouvent génial, mes mauvais tours les émerveillent, tous les ans c'est le triomphe et la gloire.

I never understood how the second castle (maleficent's one, with the heartless emblem on each tower) appeared in this world. I mean, Maleficent used Hollow Bastion (the first castle) as a base in Kh, so the second probably didn't exist yet (even if the rest of the world was destroyed, she probably didn't built an other castle before). So, how the hell has it appeared ? Has it been built by heartless ?

I'm guessing she built it before she took over hollow bastion. Myself 123 23:11, 5 March 2009 (UTC)

Methinks it is so. Who knows, maybe Birth By Sleep could shed some light on it. After all, at that time Hollow Bastion and Radiant Garden weren't plummeted into the darkness by Xehanort. ^_^

EDIT : Now I remember something. The Forteresse that we saw in KH1 could be very well the "castle under reconstruction" in KHII. Because from what I know (I think I saw this in the Ansem Reports, though I might be wrong) HB was heavily modified for Xehanort's project. I'm pretty sure that once the Keyhole of the world is consumed, what is left is only the remnant of the world (think Destiny Islands). The Forteresse could be the remnant of HB that Xehanort needed to preserve, in order to get along with his plan.

Again, I might be wrong.

Radiant Garden or The Radiant Garden?Edit

Is there a point calling this "The Radiant Garden" why not just call it "Radiant Garden" instead? Cococrash11

Well, it was "The Radiant Garden" in KH2, but as of BBS, it's just "Radiant Garden", so we can move it back, I guess.

maggosh Strike backwards... "That's a nice expression."

You're terrified, aren't you?

The new logo in BbS labels it simply as "Radiant Garden". I say we rename it.

Indeed, and obviously the search term used by 99% of people would be Radiant Garden rather than The Radiant Garden. Even the translations beneath the logo (for other versions) don't make use of the article (it's Jardin Radieux, for example). It's practically understood that despite the "the" not being there, the place is still referred to as Radiant Garden. Even Aerith calls it Radiant Garden without the "the". Damn, I can go on and on...

He added the Trivia that the castle that overlooks Radiant Garden vaguely resembles Castle That Never Was. It may seem a little bit looking alike, but I don't see any major likeness between the two. If I'm wrong, someone clarify.

Yeah, it actually more closely resembles Castle Oblivion in the BbS logo, and even that is a bit too speculative to me.

Talk_Bubble_Legend_zpsa9c4698c.png A lot of castles look alike, and I think the similarities are too vague to be good Trivia for this page. Now if the castle was modeled after The Castle that Never Was it would be a whole other story. But... it's not.

Right, so I removed that, but another piece of trivia is bugging me a little. It says that the BbS Radiant Garden bears a strong resemblance to the Gardens in Final Fantasy VIII. Now I don't have the game, so I don't know how accurate that is, but it seems too speculative to me. Should that be removed too?

Talk_Bubble_Legend_zpsa9c4698c.png Probably. Trivia is supposed to be mostly interesting facts, not speculation. Speculation can be put in trivia, but that is mostly for theories that are very likely or widely accepted.

There is a Trivia saying that this is the only world to change name, but considering that at the end of BBS the Land of Departure became Castle Oblivon, thus having the name changed that trivia should be removed or at least altered.

About Disney Castle (Still under this section)Edit

Right about the Timeless River, but Disney Town and Disney Castle, as I view it, are two different things altogether (castle, town... ?). Indeed, they refer to about the same place, but we don't know what the actual name of the world is. (And then again, the Town was seen in KH1 on the World Map, but it wasn't called Disney Town !)

As far as we know the world could be called Disney Land or even Disney World. So these three "locations" should be on separate pages for now until something new comes up, and the trivia should stay.

TALK -
As I understand it, each of these instances is just the castle remaining after the world was devoured, so it's not so much the name being changed as everything else disappearing (excluding Disney).

Furthermore, if the basis of the original discussion was that the trivia bit would need to be corrected, but it would be a spoiler, why not just remove it? Especially since the name-change is plot info anyway, it would be better to simply explain the phenomena in the story section, and leave it out of the trivia.

Question is, was Disney Town ever devoured by Darkness ? The only time we ever hear of the Darkness encroaching into that place was in KHII. That was the first instance.

And also, if the wiki policy was already stated as to insert spoilers even in the story section, then we might as well apply it anywhere else. Otherwise, what's the rationale of keeping it in the story section ? First of all, how is it ever going to be put in the story section ?

First of all, Disney was never devoured by Darkness, now if you meant the Land of Departure, I don't think it was devoured but dragged near the Realm of Darkness (Castle Oblivion is on the Realm of Between closer to the Realm of Darkness).

And about the trivia, I'll change it a bit removing the "which became Castle Oblivion" part, If the someone wants to know why the name was changed then check the section inside the spoiler template on LoD. Kay?

KrytenKoro - "Because I knew something he didn't. I knew that I was lying. Seriously, sir. 'No silicon heaven'? Where would all of the calculators go?"
TALK -
There's a very specific reason I said "excluding Disney".
  1. The policy is spoilers with spoiler warnings. It's not a huge deal, though.
  2. Trivia which has to say "the only one if you exclude these others" makes it pretty useless.
  3. It would be put into the story section something like "It was once known as Land of Departure, but became Castle Oblivion."

Shinra?Edit

Cecil the Paladin - If light and darkness are eternal, then surely the nothing must be the same... eternal!
TALK -
It was added in the Trivia section that this world looks similar too FFVII's Shinra, I don't see a resemblance, but, even if there's any, since I saw the BBS Version of Radiant Garden I have found a stronger similarity to another FF location, Balamb and Galbadia Gardens. To explain, both are "floating" or "hovering", both have a ring below them, in the FFVIII Garden's case, these are flotation rings, in Radiant garden they might just be for style and to hold the water jets, but they look very alike, except of course that the FFVIII gardens are much more technological and are schools, RG is a castle. And let's not forget that they are both named "Gardens". What do you think, is it Trivia worthy?

If you can back it up- Hollow Bastion and Midgar are similar, but keep in mind that Kingdom hearts was designed to have a different style, but still retain somethings. I doubt that one of the main KH original worlds would be built after a FF one, and gardens are just a good, beautiful bit of scenery. I have a few in my book. Tetsuya may also be having an idea similar to J.R.R Tolkien's that to much industrialism is bad, and that 's one of the things that ruined Radiant Garden's appearance.Oh,how the sea calls 06:13, July 30, 2010 (UTC)

So, every time I add into the trivia that since Ansem the Wise isn't the ruler of Radiant Garden anymore after his "death" (subject to change since we found out he never died and is in the Realm of Darkness with Aqua), Leon can be considered the TEMPORARY ruler/leader/role model type person of Radiant Garden until a permanent one could be found. Can someone explain why that keeps getting taken down? Cuz its not speculation, cuz if it is, then all the other tidbits of info that are on articles that use words like "assuming", "considered", "if blah blah blah is applied", and whatnot need to be taken down, since they too fall into the category of speculation. Yay long questions!!

LapisScarab -   You accept darkness, yet choose to live in the light. So why is it that you loathe us who teeter on the edge of nothing? We who were turned away by both light and dark - never given a choice?
TALK - That may be... however, what other choice might we have had?
It is speculation, because absolutely nothing indicates that Leon is the new leader. It isn't speculation just because words like "assuming" are used (though it would be preferable if they were not), it's speculations because there is no confirmation for it whatsoever.

No, no, a thousand times no, because it's already evident that HBRC isn't a ruling committee, but only a restoration committee. So technically, there's no ruler for HB until a new one is announced.

YEESH I ask a question and people jump all over me like a monkey on a pile of bananas hahaha. The only reason I said that Leon bit was because he's there protecting the people of Radiant Garden, which is what a ruler should do. So that's where I got that idea from. I never once said tho that the entire HBRC were the rulers, I'm just saying Leon is like a morale leader for all the other people. Can we AT LEAST put in there something about it being rulerless, like maybe one of the few worlds with no ruler ( others being TWTNW, End of the World, Neverland cuz no one ever said who their leader was, Peter Pan i'm guessing, and i don't know i think there are more.)? Until, God willing the game makers do this, Ansem the Wise makes it back to RG. Also I still don't understand how using "assuming" isn't speculation at times after reading what you said.

er....... meant to say "one of the few worlds with no ruler at the moment" or some variant. I just woke up so I'm kinda drowzee. YAY Pokemon references!!

Next time, word your questions as simply as possible.

Leon is a morale leader of sorts, but he's not the only one. And about HB being rulerless, it's already implied from the after-BBS section, when the apprentices banished Ansem to the Realm of Nothingness, that Xehanort would rule HB. Then after Xehanort's defeat, HB was left rulerless. If it's already implied, why make it express ?

because people (like me sometimes) are sometimes too thickheaded to see the implications and understand them hahaha.

Using weasel words like "assuming" and others like it do not automatically make something speculation, but it would be better if they were not used. If something is not confirmed by the game designers, other people involved in the creation of the game, or in the game itself, it is speculation, and speculation should not be on the articles.

Final Fantasy VIII?Edit

So a number of you have probably already noticed this, but the name Radiant Garden seems to hint at a connection to the Gardens from FFVIII (Balamb, etc.). One of the pictures (the birth by sleep one) in particular looks like the flying Gardens from FFVIII. Any word on this and if it's more than just speculation? Considering the connection between the two games and the fact that Squall/Leon is from there, I feel like it was intentional. It'd be nice to confirm though. jse334

I find it funny that eight members of Org. XIII came from Radiant Garden (excluding Sora's Heartless/Nobody creation), and then there's the connection people make between RG and FFVIII. Seems like 8 is a very important number here. Of course, whether or not they intentionally used the number eight for a connection to FFVIII is beyond me. Lying Memories 20:16, August 3, 2010 (UTC)

Dark DepthsEdit

In Kingdom Hearts II, the Dark Depths area of Hollow Bastion becomes the name of an area in Radiant Garden which contains a large cliff overlooking the remains of Maleficent's old castle. The Dark Depths can be reached if one proceeds through the Great Maw, and it is also where the player has the option to face Sephiroth in a boss battle. When Cloud faces Sephiroth, their battle also takes place in this area.

After watching the cutscene in Japanese, I conclude that it's just Aerith translating "Radiant Garden" into Japanese after she says it in English. I'm not sure about putting it in the article, but I'd say definitely not in the infobox. --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 19:48, 23 March 2014 (UTC)
