About the BBS music, I have found several links to OST's on YouTube, which contain the supposed titles of the songs. Considering I haven't found any BBS OST available for sale online, and nothing like KHInsider confirms this track's release, I'm not sure what to do. The titles are believable, using this as an example : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=il8gswWCnGc&feature=related

If this is so, I'd like to be the one to update the page. It all depends on the community's judgment.

Well, if there's no OST out yet, then they're obviously titles made up by fans.—Urutapu 11:50, February 2, 2010 (UTC)

The OST is out in Japan. Someone stated they bought it. That could have been a lie of course.

Night on Bald Mountain/Night on the Bare MountainEdit

Sleeping LionHeart -   "I happen to know everything there is to know about maple syrup. I love maple syrup! I love it on pancakes, I love it on pizza! I love to take maple syrup and put a little bit in my hair when I've had a rough week. What do you think holds it up, slick?"
TALK - 23:10, April 30, 2010 (UTC) "I award you no cookies and may God have mercy on your soul."
Is it Night on the Bare Mountain or Night on Bald Mountain, becasue in the film Fantasia, it says Night on Bald Mountain, the original.

True, but the released Kingdom Hearts soundtracks name the track "Night on the Bare Mountain". I don't know why. --Neumannz 23:14, April 30, 2010 (UTC)

its night on bald mountain in the kingdom hearts credits as seen by this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_NOCzkRZXQ 86.30.108.115 23:18, April 30, 2010 (UTC) its about 2 mins and 30 secs in 86.30.108.115 23:19, April 30, 2010 (UTC)

Okay, first of all, both titles are translated from Russian anyway and mean the same thing. Second, "Bare" should be what's considered official to KH at the moment. "Kingdom Hearts Final Mix - Additional Tracks" uses "Bald" but Kingdom Hearts Original Soundtrack Complete uses "Bare". It's a retcon of sorts.—Urutapu 07:52, May 1, 2010 (UTC)

i think we should go with what it says on the credits as that is what it was officially called when it was played in the game sequence, if this was the page for the soundtrack it probably should be called what it says on the track listing but its not its the in-game boss music therefore the song name in the credits should be official 86.30.108.115 13:42, May 1, 2010 (UTC)

Uh huh. Because the Official Soundtracks aren't official somehow? --Neumannz 01:53, May 2, 2010 (UTC)
completely missed what i was saying i wasnt saying that night on Bare mountain wasnt the official name of the song i was saying that night on bald mountain is how it was named in the credits so thats what it should be called here as this is the 'in game ' music not the soundtrack music i cant make it any clearer than that 86.30.108.115 21:16, May 3, 2010 (UTC)
The song is officially credited at the end of the game, and honestly, the Original Soundtrack Complete is only released in Japan, right? Unless they've gotten special permission to rename the song due to their slight remix of it, I think we can write it off as a typo. "Bald Mountain" is the name of the actual location in the film, and that name is used in both Kingdom Hearts and the Final Mix soundtrack, so it's fair to say that we've got both context and majority on this one.Glorious CHAOS! 03:33, May 2, 2010 (UTC)
You don't need "special permission" to rename a piece of music in the public domain, especially when the "name" is a translation in the first place.—Urutapu 06:49, May 3, 2010 (UTC)
Oh, I didn't know it was in the public domain. I thought there might be some kind of issue if they had misnamed it.Glorious CHAOS! 07:42, May 3, 2010 (UTC)

Shrouding Dark Cloud.Edit

It says in the opening paragraph that this theme is associated with Heartless Bosses. I thought Destiny's Force played against Heartless. It played against Darkside, Parasite Cage, Behemoth and others. Can someone get rid of that statement? (Bananaphone1996 22:57, August 14, 2010 (UTC))

Both themes play during Heartless Bosses. So the statement is accurate since it doesn't say it plays during ALL Heartless Bosses.76.108.136.28 21:11, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

SeriouslyEdit

The edit warring here needs to stop. Leave it until the OST comes out. IS THAT HARD?--Random!to a point! 21:30, September 18, 2010 (UTC)

Why do we need this page? It seems to me that it would be better to have the boss music listed on the appropriate boss' page. Perhaps containing it in the template like we do with World articles?

That doesn't really help. I'd like some more input from other users though.

@LapisScarab, I know it's 4 years later, but just the other day I was listening to the soundtracks, and thinking "I can't remember where that plays" for particular boss battles. I think a list with all the songs and when they play is very convenient. So... there's another users input. 4 years later.. —Preceding unsigned comment added by MikeyWho (talkcontribs)

Birth By Sleep themesEdit

TALK - Look's like it's Oogie's turn to boogie now!
Opposed to what the artivles say, not all the titles are unnamed. Alot of these tracks are from previous games. e.g. The Encounter which plays against disney villains in KH2 also plays against disney villains in BBS. Maleficent, Gantu Captain Hook all have it, and Experiment 221 and Peter Pan also have music from previous games. What about these titles? Aren't these official? Shouldn't titles like Vim and Vigor and The Encounter be added to BBS Bosses?

Many themes are also reused for Days so why do all of them read "title unanounced?" Just because a game specific OST hasn't come out doesn't change the fact that we already know the names of the songs.

Although the songs are identical, the titles for that game have not been released, so ergo, "title unnanounced." Chitalian8

Okay so how does that make them different songs? They're not even remixes which may have different titles than the original, the only difference between them is the game. I mean do different radio stations use different tittles for the same song? No, they use the same one because it is the same song, seriously should I use a different names for the champion theme for Pokemon Gold and Silver than the one used in Pokemon Crystal? Also don't say that that example is irrelevant just because it is an unrelated series.

Wow, I keep forgetting to sign my posts. I also posted the second and forth comments in this section.76.108.136.28 05:21, October 10, 2010 (UTC)

That example is irrelevant because it is an unrelated series.
Wait for the OST to come out. There is no basis in policy to be guessing at names for what it sounds like.(ಠ_ೃ) Bully! 18:24, October 10, 2010 (UTC)

It's the same song used in two different games under the same circumstances, it was a perfect example. As I said should I just consider them to have different names just because it has never been said that they do or don't. This isn't guessing, it is a conclusion reached based on facts. Seriously just because it is used in a different game doesn't mean it's a different song, if it was a remix it could be considered different but it's not.

To be frank, your opinion here doesn't matter, because it is directly contradictory to the wiki's policies.(ಠ_ೃ) Bully! 14:26, October 11, 2010 (UTC)

But what if the soundtrack remains unreleased? It can't say title unannounced forever. SeanWheeler 01:46, October 23, 2010 (UTC)

Umm, yes, it can.LapisLazuliScarab02:49, October 23, 2010 (UTC)

What if the internal names for the tracks used by the game were used? Especially for days and recoded? 134.151.33.152 11:38, October 26, 2010 (UTC)

We need to start updateing the article with the bosses from Coded and Re:coded. I would but I don't know what the games various bosses are asside from Sora-Heartless and Roxas. LightoftheDarkness 22:12, November 9, 2010 (UTC)

Ventus-VanitasEdit

Don't we need to add Ventus-Vanitas to the Keyblade Graveyard section of Birth by Sleep? Also is Unbreakable Chains the theme used for Ven's fight against Vanitas inside their heart or for the Ventus-Vanitas fight with Aqua? LightoftheDarkness 03:12, January 8, 2011 (UTC)

TBA TitlesEdit

LapisScarab -   You accept darkness, yet choose to live in the light. So why is it that you loathe us who teeter on the edge of nothing? We who were turned away by both light and dark - never given a choice?
TALK - That may be... however, what other choice might we have had?
Since the recent Soundtracks are unlikely to cover all of the songs with "TBA" titles and this can be a significant source of conflict, I'd like to suggest a change in the policy we use for songs. Specifically, music that has been officially named in past games, but not in the more recent ones. For example, The Encounter in KHII is used several times in BBS, but it has no official title for that particular "remix".

In cases like this, I think we should put the most recent official title in place of "title unnanounced", but add some sort of disclaimer. So for Gantu in the BBS section, we put "The Encounter", but place a notation of some kind to indicate that there is not an official name for it yet. Here are a few options I though of:

  1. Have an asterisk next to each title to indicate that it is a variation of the song, but the title has not been officially confirmed, with a notation earlier up on the page stating this, in much the same way certain rooms are marked on Project World.
  2. Simply have a paranthetical next to the song like there is now, only changing it to "officical title unnanounced" or something to that effect.
  3. For cases where a soundtrack hasn't been released at all (Re:coded, BBSFM), note at the tp of the section that an offical soundtrack has not been released yet.

It's just an idea, but one I think could satisfy both sides. I'm proposing this more for the soon-to-leave Wiki, since the Wikia-Wiki will likely relax on this policy anyway. Thoughts?

maggosh The steel is forged... "Souls as far as the eye can see..."

"If you want light to rule over all, then you must rid the world of everything else."

I'm all for the asterisk idea. The BBS versions of KHII tracks will most likely not be released, and it's pretty clear what the tracks are.

I can't think enough to answer right now, but I'll just throw up this link: KHWiki:Project Music --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 07:08, January 19, 2011 (UTC)

8tE68DV.png Well, since I have the OST, it contains no older songs, even the songs for Olympus Coliseum and Mysterious Tower aren't there. So we'll have to use the older names. I'll go and put them in now and if we need to it can be reverted.

LapisScarab -   You accept darkness, yet choose to live in the light. So why is it that you loathe us who teeter on the edge of nothing? We who were turned away by both light and dark - never given a choice?
TALK - That may be... however, what other choice might we have had?
This is an idea I'm proposing. The current policy is still to avoid using unnanounced names. Leave the titles as they are until we decide to do something different.

ReorganizationEdit

sho12.png
Item_2383.png AS IF! Item_2383.png The world is garbage! CRUNCH!
So, running with the format from the Final Boss Battle page, should we reorganize this page so that battles are categorized by song rather than by world? That way we can include samples of each song in a clean and organized manner.

EDIT 02:15, 13 January 2012 (UTC): I made a draft of what the page would be like if we were to reorganize the battles by song. Any thoughts? Note that I have only completed Kingdom Hearts and its Final Mix counterpart, so don't look at any sections beside those.

I kinda like it like that. Do the rest of the sections, and let's see what we get. --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 03:27, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

New ideaEdit

So, here's my new idea. I got one, see.

We cover EVERY song, talk about it and how it differs between games, list its composers what have you, and detail everywhere it appears in games. We ALSO list every soundtrack it appears on. Afterward, we farm out all the appearance info to all the world, boss, and character infoboxes. Thoughts?"We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 18:28, 29 September 2012 (UTC)

I agree. That would definitely make this more organized. Blackchaos27 (talk) 20:21, 29 September 2012 (UTC)
I agree with this. Similar to what VGMdb has (at least for the composer part). Ay, dios mio! I might be late tomorrow. - Erry 22:13, 30 September 2012 (UTC)
That sounds Great! Finally, something that I can help out with!--Raph the Great (talk) 07:24, 2 October 2012 (UTC)

What are your intentions for the Notes below? --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 04:17, 19 October 2012 (UTC)

They should be incorporated into the respective track's write-up. I think I'm missing a chunk, but it should be obvious as we go through anyway."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 05:46, 19 October 2012 (UTC)

Red linksEdit

So is this for just the soundtracks? We also need to have a page for the piano collections if so. SubZeroFlames18:26, 11 January 2013 (UTC)

All official tracks should be listed on this page, per the above discussions."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 08:57, 12 January 2013 (UTC)
So then we a)need to have a page for Piano Collections music descriptions b)need to update this page with more than khII and kh songs, because this is a generic music page? SubZeroFlames20:14, 12 January 2013 (UTC)
We do not need a separate page. Every track should be covered here, as mentioned above, while full soundtracks get their own pages. This page needs to be completed and alphabetized."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 23:52, 12 January 2013 (UTC)

Off "The Deep End"?Edit

Whould somebody PLEASE add "The Deep End"? That is one of my favorites.  ToaJuaraevo01   20:33, 11 March 2013 (UTC)

Its here. In the future, please read the full article carefully before saying something on its talk page. TheFifteenthMember 20:38, 11 March 2013 (UTC)
  • Facepalm* NO, NO, NO! I mean upload the actual song. I know the article mentions it, but the link to the song is broken.

On an unrelated note, please be patient with me, as I am still somewhat of a noob.  ToaJuaraevo01   20:44, 11 March 2013 (UTC)

In that case, I'm sure there's plenty of videos of it on YouTube. TheFifteenthMember 21:08, 11 March 2013 (UTC)
KH13.com has virtually all KH tracks linked to their site. The Deep End can be listened to here. --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 21:35, 11 March 2013 (UTC)

Massive Track ListEdit

Why for the love of Aqua this article contains 'all' the tracks? It's so impractical to have it like this as the page is too long and also it's missing other tracks. It would be better if every track would have it's own page, I think. If it has to stay the way it is now, could someone explain me why?—Kaimi (talk) 18:40, 21 June 2013 (UTC)

ease of use and not enough material to justify separate pages for each track."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 02:10, 22 June 2013 (UTC)

I have a suggestion to solve the list that never endsm (because its already 93 tracks, thats less than the published track list for Kingdom Hearts II alone). Rather than an epic list, and a single page per song, what about a list for all the songs in each game? So it'd be like, a page listing the songs in Kingdom Hearts, than a separate one for the songs in Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, etc. What do you guys think?
Why not? I mean it's not like we do this already. maggosh 16:32, 20 July 2013 (UTC)

Ok, but I mean split this game up by game, with the description and everything. But with your links, you just eliminated the need for this page, in my opinion. Because if the tracks are already listed on other pages in a more organized manner, why is this page still here than?
Because every song must have it's OWN page. But there's not enough info to do that, then, each songs page redirects to it's place in the list. What we need to do is check those discs pages and add all songs that are there to this list, with all it's versions. For example, Dearly Beloved will be done only when all it's versions of each game are added with the use of different tabs in this page. Although, I don't know if that's right, Dearly Beloved has it's own page. - MateusinhoEX 17:01, 20 July 2013 (UTC)

Making it nice and purty?Edit

*pokes page*

Someone wanna finish the nice chart I started making before I left? It's far from finished and I won't be working on it anytime soon, but I think for the sake of organization a chart would be much more handy than a list. Of course, this is just an opinion coming from a long dead editor, however it would make more sense to organize it a bit. SubZeroFlames21:56, 28 August 2014 (UTC)

The table is definitely more visually appealing but we should wait 'til Project Music is finished before we decide what to do. That way, we have all the information first since there's a chance that some tracks will have too many appearances that wouldn't be able to be jammed into one or two columns. TheFifteenthMember 23:12, 28 August 2014 (UTC)

Finishing the list?Edit

Hey, guys! I was just wondering if anyone wants me to finish compiling the list, since lots of tracks are missing on here. I can't provide the actual file/link to the song, but I can certainly compile the list. Is it cool if I do that? I'll just make a temporary user page for it and then copy/paste over to this article. Hallowseve97 (talk) 05:41, 16 September 2016 (UTC)

The plan is to give each track its own page, like Night of Fate, but it wouldn't hurt to fill out this page for now. TheSilentHero 16:48, 16 September 2016 (UTC)

Alright! I'll start filling it out later today! I could make the articles after. Hallowseve97 (talk) 17:23, 16 September 2016 (UTC)

I forgot to say, I am not an expert with what instruments are used. I can do appearances and such, but I can't really provide the file(s) or the composition. Hallowseve97 (talk) 17:25, 16 September 2016 (UTC)

That's fine. Just put {{sec-stub}} under the Composition section. And for the files, they might already be uploaded. All the music files should be in here. TheSilentHero 17:31, 16 September 2016 (UTC)

Replace with categoryEdit

Surely this page is way too long and it only contains redundant information that exists on the respective music pages. Wouldn't using a category better serve the purpose of listing every track? --TheFifteenthMember 17:23, 26 June 2020 (UTC)

Personally, I say once we finish the individual music tracks we burn delete this page. We already have the individual music articles, the individual original soundtracks, and categories for the music tracks. Also, world and character articles that have themes are noted in their main space article.Xion4ever 17:35, 26 June 2020 (UTC)
