Possibly, but there's no real source for it. Feel free to say it is if you're writing fan-fiction.

IWhere can I put that Castle Oblivion is C.O for short? In Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, the members of Organization XIII refer to it as C.O. multiple times in the game. Here's http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6U34vz5cNo&feature=channel if you don't believe me.

I dunno. I think it was done to make room in the talk bubbles. And even if they really do call the Castle C.O., Xigbar and Demyx aren't exactly the most proper sounding members..... but members nonetheless. I say put it in.

It's not those two. Everyone says it. I just gave you a link to where Xigbar and Demyx says it.

Card SystemEdit

Okay, what I noticed is that all the OrgXIII members and Sora have to wait for the cards to reload before progressing, but Riku can automatically reload them. It could be because Sora lost his memory, though it wouldn't be the same case for other OrgXIII members. It could also be because Riku uses darkness, but other OrgXIII members also use darkness.

So what's the actual cause of Riku not needing to charge his cards ? TNÉ En avant Bravo ! 07:21, October 19, 2009 (UTC)

DarkMasterGuyThingy - Captain Jack Sparrow, if you please.
TALK - Will you leave a mate to perish?
Well My Guess Is Because Sora Had To Will His Cards Back Using His Heart, And His Heart Being, You Know Light And All, While Riku's Is Darkness, It's Probably Got To Do With Their Hearts. Probably Not.

.

But then again, remember that the OrgXIII members can also manipulate darkness just like Riku ; why is it then that they have to charge their cards ? TNÉ En avant Bravo ! 07:29, October 19, 2009 (UTC)

Hmmm...Well Organization XIII Are Nobodies, While Riku's An Actual Human. But I Said Riku's Heart Was Dark, Not Just His Manipulation. But That Is A Good Question To Ponder Over...

I don't think that there is a story-wise reason for it. Riku's deck is pre-set for each World/floor, so because it's so small the design team probably did it for system reasons. Hyperwre_2.0 18:34, December 8, 2009 (UTC)

CrossroadsEdit

Should there be a separate page for the "Crossroads" area that Sora, Donald and Goofy come to before finding Castle Oblivion? Key of Destiny 23:56, December 20, 2009 (UTC)

Maggosh is right. If you played Days to a certain extent, you will know.

It's probably a good idea to lock this up too, like the other BBS articles. Especially after the big revelation, people will get excited and stupid and in turn, this article will turn into one frakked up game of ping-pong. The 3-month rule needs be applied here too, ya?

TALK - Do you think you can erase your past? - 20:03 January 21, 2010

This is a stupid question but I am still somewhat confused. If Castle Oblivion is in the realm of between and it was once the Land of Departure, does that mean the Land of Departure was in the realm of between?

I believe that the Land of Departure was on the realm of light but was dragged on the realm of between when it was "attacked" by darkness.

Isatalk_zpsd3f6ad3e.png
That's what I was thinking too. I doubt it was originally in the Realm of In-Between.

Named roomsEdit

  • White Room (the Worlds)
  • Station of Remembrance (Lexaeus, Larxene)
  • Station of Oblivion (Marluxia)
  • Chamber of Waking

Relativity TriviaEdit

LapisScarab -   You accept darkness, yet choose to live in the light. So why is it that you loathe us who teeter on the edge of nothing? We who were turned away by both light and dark - never given a choice?
TALK - That may be... however, what other choice might we have had?
As much as I love Escher's artwork, I don't really see the resemblance between the barely noticeable stairs in the logo and the stairs in Relativity. In the logo, the stairs all seem to be descending in the same way (as opposed to the impossible and contradictory ways the stairs in Relativity are arranged), and there's nothing actually on the stairs; the people walking upside down on the stairs is one of the most distinctive parts of Relativity. The trivia piece just doesn't seem quite accurate.

The "O" in the logo vaguely reminds me of the Penrose steps impossible object, though.

I'm in agreeance with you. Upon comparing the two with the logo, Penrose steps makes more sense. Good point, Lapis. ^_^

Setting sectionEdit

This article needs a Setting section that covers both the outer appearance of the castle and the inner rooms (including the entry+exit halls and the "Castle Oblivion" floors). Possibly also the crossroads?

Speaking of the outer appearance, can anybody tell what the backdrop behind the castle is? --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 01:47, 24 May 2013 (UTC)

Here's your backdrop. Erry 02:47, 24 May 2013 (UTC)

Good lord that's pretty. --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 03:53, 24 May 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, I agree. :)--NinjaSheik 03:58, 24 May 2013 (UTC)

I just wanted to add that technically the crossroads are part of Disney Castle in Kingdom Hearts, although this most likely doesn't mean anything in terms of game lore. I also made this background photo with the help of some cheat codess, so if anyone has a request for an location screenshot, just tell me.:-) ShardofTruth 21:48, 24 May 2013 (UTC)

regarding the articleEdit

what does the article mean by "lost in oblivion?" from the article Aqua honors her master's final request by using this method to recreate the world so that only she knew the structure and layout of it and that any unwelcome visitors would be "lost in oblivion" --Draph91 (talk) 20:46, 11 November 2015 (UTC)

AFAIK, only Aqua knew the structure of this place, and how it was meant to work. The passages that led to Ventus, only she could know and access. Anyone else would be swallowed up, confused or otherwise frustrated from reaching Ventus. Think of when Xemnas orders the search for Ventus' body while in 358/2 Days. He fails despite looking everywhere he could access. TRSNX 18:31, 11 November 2015 (UTC)
More briefly, oblivion means an absence of memories, and Castle Oblivion steals your memories."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 20:38, 11 November 2015 (UTC)

no I've read on here that was Namine's doing --Draph91 (talk) 20:46, 11 November 2015 (UTC)

Give me the exact sentence or paragraph that suggests this is Naminé's doing, please... Yes, she actually does alter Sora's memories in the course of Chain of Memories. But the castle itself has memory-stealing properties, as evidenced with Xemnas and everyone else from the Organization who has been tasked with searching for the Chamber of Waking -- and the only one thing that is in the Chamber of Waking is Ventus' body. TRSNX 21:10, 11 November 2015 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure CoM confirmed it was Naminé's doing and I thought the reason the Organization members can't find Ventus's body is because it's hidden and only Aqua knows where it is and it had nothing to do with memory loss. TheSilentHero 21:16, 11 November 2015 (UTC)

Well, it's hidden, but considering this is an avatar of Xehanort we're dealing with, who can come to even the most hidden of places just by teleportation / using the Corridors of Darkness, it'd have to be more than just hidden.... no? TRSNX 21:18, 11 November 2015 (UTC)

CoM confirmed that Namine was reconfiguring Sora's memories; I don't recall it ever saying it was her fault they were loose in the first place, and "lost in oblivion" has a very specific meaning. So, unless Namine is Aqua in disguise..."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 13:40, 12 November 2015 (UTC)
(late, but) In the Japanese version of Birth by Sleep, the way Eraqus describes the fate of visitors to Castle Oblivion is "訪れた者はすべてを忘却の彼方に失う", which translates as "visiting people will lose everything to the other side of oblivion". In this case, the word translated as 'oblivion', 忘却, is more specifically forgetfulness; i.e. people who come to Castle Oblivion will lose their memory. The way the English version has been cut down, along with how the English 'oblivion' can also mean a consignment to nothingness (and for many people only means this), results in the sentence sounding more like disappearances than amnesia. 82.36.144.164 18:22, 31 July 2016 (UTC)
