After hearing Mickey's story and discovering Aqua sacrificed herself for his safety, Riku becomes frustrated towards Mickey, asking why he kept the story a secret for a long time. Mickey tells Riku that he didn't reveal this secret out of respect for Aqua. Yen Sid then explains that nobody was capable of entering the Realm of Darkness and saving Aqua at the time. As such he forbade Mickey from ever telling anyone about Aqua. When Riku asked why keep it a secret, Yen Sid exclaims to Riku that it was a safety measure, knowing either he or Sora would recklessly attempt to save her. Mickey then tells Riku that the both of them are now ready to save her and Riku shows eagerness towards this. Kairi teases Riku, saying he is showing a new side to him, saying he is like Sora. Riku talks about how he prefers to follow his heart a lot like Sora. Kairi asks Yen Sid what she can do to help and Yen Sid tells her that she will undergo keyblade training alongside Lea. After Kairi discovers Lea is the human form of Axel, Both Mickey and Riku assure her that he is trustworthy and he even saved Sora. Yen Sid provides Mickey and Riku new clothes to shield them from darkness to help prepare them for their trip into the Realm of Darkness.
