Synopsis

Vexen states that his experiment will determine whether Riku or Sora are fit to be the "key." The Riku Replica speaks up, claiming he is more powerful than the real Riku. Larxene laughs at Vexen's failure to convince Riku to join them- instead creating this fake. Angered, the Replica says otherwise, countering that he has his own heart. Larxene grabs the Replica, taking it to Naminé. Larxene slams the Replica onto the table, ordering Naminé to remake the Replica's heart to be just like the real Riku. Larxene finishes, placing a hand on the Replica: "I'm going to give you a wonderful memory."

Sora, Donald, and Goofy continue advancing in the castle, now running. Sora recalls his promise to Naminé on the night of a meteor shower. After promising to protect her, Naminé gives him her star-shaped good luck charm. After running further into the castle the group takes a short break. Donald reminds Sora that they originally came to Castle Oblivion to find the King and Riku. Donald questions if Sora has already forgotten Riku. Sora retaliates, stating Riku can take care of himself. The Riku Replica steps in, with Vexen hiding behind a nearby column. Donald and Goofy go to search for the King while the Riku Replica talks to Sora. Upon mentioning Naminé, the Replica states Naminé doesn't want to see Sora. The Replica orders Sora to leave, saying he will protect Naminé. Sora tries to dissuade Riku, saying they can both rescue Naminé and take her back home to the others. When the Riku Replica pries further, he criticizes Sora for not remembering them. The Replica continues, telling Sora of the promise he made with Naminé. Confused, Sora declares only he made that promise. The two show their matching good luck charms, both from Naminé. The Replica attacks Sora, branding Sora a memory thief and possessing a fake good luck charm. The Replica runs away, warning Sora that if he remains in the way they are enemies.

Donald and Goofy do not find King Mickey, instead finding Vexen hiding. Vexen states that Sora will become a Heartless puppet. Vexen hands over another card, telling Sora to follow him for answers. Back in the computer monitor room, Axel and Larxene are shocked to see the locked memory card. Larxene worries if Sora discovers "the other side." Marluxia appears, ordering Axel to "rid us of our traitor."
