==Story==

As a cub, Nala was [[Simba]]'s closest friend and it was decided during their youth that both cubs would be betrothed to one another; they both would be wed to each other as adults. Nala would accompany Simba on his adventures and was just as outgoing as he was. She once went with him to the Elephant Graveyard, where Simba tried to protect her from the hyenas [[Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed]]. After [[Mufasa]] rescued the pair, Nala told Simba that she thought he had been very brave, despite not actually being able to scare off the hyenas.

Later, the lion pride, including Nala, were told by [[Scar]] that Simba had died, along with Mufasa, in a wildebeest stampede. Nala was deepened saddened at this and went on believing it well into her young adulthood, until she left the [[Pride Lands]] to find help overthrowing the tyrant Scar (who had since proclaimed himself the King and desolated the Pride Lands) and was unexpected reunited with her old friend.
