This puppet may not seem like such a pain when it rides around on its ring, but just wait until it possesses a nearby toy!

Or, here's a better plan:
don't wait until it possesses a nearby toy. Sever this scoundrel's strings on sight.

The Marionette is an Emblem Heartless that appears in Kingdom Hearts III.

The Marionette is quite weak on its own, but is able to animate the various toys around the store, including Beasts & Bugs, Patchwork Animals, Air Droids, Bouncy Pets and Supreme Smashers. One also animates Angelic Amber and another possesses Buzz Lightyear.

Story

Kingdom Hearts III

At Young Xehanort's command, the Marionettes begin taking control of the toys at Galaxy Toys, ranging from the Beasts & Bugs, Patchwork Animals, Air Droids, Bouncy Pets, Supreme Smashers and even an Angelic Amber doll. Each defeat helps weaken Buzz's resolve, leaving him vulnerable to possession by a Marionette himself, until Young Xehanort removes the Heartless from him.

Design

The Marionette bears a strong resemblance to a Possessor, being a dark blue head with yellow eyes, a jagged mouth, and red spikes all over its body. It is surrounded by a blue ring with yellow edges and controls a doll with strings. This doll has grey skin, yellow button eyes with orange stitches, a red nose, and four-fingered hands that end with dark tips. It wears an orange beanie with a spiked cap, a blue stripe and the Heartless emblem emblazoned on the front, a beige shirt with a blue stripe and orange sleeves with buttons on the tip, and orange suspenders tipped with curved feet and buttons on the hems.

Most toys possessed by Marionettes bear yellow eyes and the Heartless emblem somewhere on their person. Curiously, Buzz does not sport these features when he is possessed by one.

Battle

Attacks

Kingdom Hearts III

  • Doll Swing (人形振り回し Ningyō Furimawashi?)
  • Rush Attack (突進攻撃 Tosshin Kōgeki?)

Strategy

Marionettes are rather weak on their own and are simple to defeat using any method of offense. They becomes deadlier once they possess the various toys around the store, so it is a good idea to quickly eliminate them on sight before they do.
