What I do is just alter my stratagy as Terra and Ven. I use a hit and run stratagy, and when given the chance cast Blizzara or Thundara. When he uses the spinning attack SPAM CARTWHEEL around the edge of the battle area. If you take a few hits, either use Cure/ra or a potion, the immediatly begin cartwheeling again until the spinning attack stops.
