This won't really become relevant until it, well, does, but it was regardless a tiny idea I had. When 2.8 is out (or before it even), we'll have to get around to creating the inevitable separate game entry pages for Back Cover and 0.2. Which is perfectly fine, except they're not really coming out like previous games did. They're original, brand new entries that are regardless part of an exclusive compilation. Hence when they go up, I think we should do two important tweaks to indicate: Add some kind of indicator to their front page icons that those games are a part of 2.8 - something like a tiny dream eater symbol on a bottom corner, or something. And second, slightly tweak the color of the infoboxes. I already played around with that a bit - just hit the sandbox to get an idea. And keep in mind, this is ONLY for Back Cover and 0.2 BBS. Now, there's still plenty of time until actual news starts trickling down - when we actually have to make entries for them. But until then, why not discuss? --Webber22 (talk) 04:02, 15 May 2016 (UTC)

You're right, it's a somewhat confusing situation when separate entries of the series are not released separately. Since it's unknown how 2.8 FCP will work I think it could still technically be possible to release them digitally as separate entries later or also feature them in other collections (something like Kingdom Hearts III Final Mix+), so in the end it could become even more confusing. Adding a small secondary symbol/indicator to the game's icon is a good idea to illustrate dependencies but I think it will make our game symbol situation even worse since it brings yet another option to show the game entry's version to the table.
Ideally we would only have one symbol for every game and some sort of smaller information that show in which game version you can specifically find this kind of content. For example: This element can be found in Back Cover that is part of FCP, or this element can be found in coded that is part of the original coded, re:coded but not HD 2.5 or this element can be found in CoM but only in the HD 1.5 release. --ShardofTruth 08:09, 15 May 2016 (UTC)
KHD and RCO cutscene versions are essentially new titles completely, albeit with the same names. All the other hd games released so far are more like ports than Re/Final Mix titles. The difference with 2.8 is it will have three brand new titles, all with different names, so it would be easy to treat each individual title as its own game (giving its own page, game symbol etc.) and document 2.8 as the compilation packet those titles released in. However, it wouldn't be consistent to put the 1.5 and 2.5 icons on pages and not 2.8. Would it be possible to implement hover information for the symbols like how we have on the main page? That way, the symbols at the top would just show which game the page is from and hover information shows specifically what versions of the game it's from. TheFifteenthMember 08:27, 15 May 2016 (UTC)
I have been suggesting this since the beginning. I am very, very against treating the HD "folders" the same way we treat actual game titles from previous games. I've gotten tepid agreement to fix that system in the past for files (uploading with standard naming ids, and keeping the pre-HD version of the file linked like Memory Alpha does it), with no one actually willing to start acting on it. Other than the videos, there are maybe ten instances where the HD version content differed from the FM versions - Taunt, Combo Master, etc. I don't think it's meaningful to treat these any differently than we treat NA/JP version differences, so if we're not going to start differentiating icons by those as well, we shouldn't for HD - the "game" it is is Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix, as stated on the game's logo, credits, and trophy screen.
In short, I think that "HD1.5", "HD2.5", and "HD2.8" should only be used within refnotes, clarifying differences between pre- and post-HD versions the same way we do JP and NA versions. I do not think we should treat them as games."We're werewolves, not swearwolves." (KrytenKoro) 14:31, 15 May 2016 (UTC)
