So. I've finally moved my Stats article rewrite into the mainspace, and now I want to figure out what to do next.
  • First of all, there are currently three separate articles for individual stats, Level, Hit Points, and AP. I think all the important information is now in the main Stats page, so I think they should just redirect to Stats. Does anyone disagree or think there's information I'm missing?
  • How do we want to link stats? Do we want to link stats? Level, HP, AP, and MP are sometimes linked in articles, but do we want to make that the common practice, or get rid of the ones that are there?

DiscussionEdit

Ready, GO!

I think level is fine. Any concerns I had specifically on that were previously discussed on the talkpage. Unless you want to describe the HUD appearance in all the games, I think HP is also fine as it is. Was the KHX information on AP not appropriate for the stat page, or should it be a section stub? On linking: I say go for it. If not, how else do we intend to link/"show off" the article?

  • HUD stuff should be covered on Gauges.
  • KHX version of AP is covered at the bottom of the page, under the "Kingdom Hearts χ" section.
  • In that case we'll have to have a plan for adding the links. --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 04:14, 2 July 2014 (UTC)

Just compared the information between HP and the respective section on gauges...the information is already there. Wow, my apologies on KHX. That was careless. I don't see a problem with redirects, truth be told. However, if we decide against this, the only other option I know would be to link it under a gameplay/mechanic section somewhere. The link currently exists on Template:KH series

"Stats" is already under Template:Mechanics, as well. --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 04:32, 2 July 2014 (UTC)

TheFifteenthMember Yes. You're creepy. I can't say we'll miss you while you're gone, so it'd be best if you did go. We all win that way. TheFifteenthMember 15:03, 2 July 2014 (UTC)
Couple of things about the stats page:
  • The section names of the stats should be written in full rather than abbreviated (e.g. "Hit Points" instead of "HP"). That distinguishes the three different APs easier (which by the way, we need a disambig for).
  • What imagery can we put on the page? Nothing seems to inherently represent the stats apart from the gauges. What do the icons here and here represent. Do they represent the stats themselves, the stat boosts or are they a bunch of random images?
  • We should delete the individual stat pages now.

Those images are to show the level up screen and the related bonuses, which is relevant to the section. The only other images you could put I think would be the stat screens from the game menus.

EDIT: I need some help verifying that the "full names" of the stats are used in-game or in materials, because the only one I know off the top of my head is HP, in the first game only.

The stats page is missing Birth by Sleep. Now, I'm no expert on stats, percentages, and the like, but if you need any help with things like that for Birth by Sleep, I can try to do my best.

There are no stats unique to BBS. There's only HP, Strength, Magic and Defense. --Neumannz, The Dark Falcon 02:03, 3 July 2014 (UTC)

  Verification for in materials:

Pretty much sum up what the guide has to say. They mention "hit points" and "ability points" once, page 14, and then refer to it as HP and AP. From the instruction manual: Hit Points and Magic Points (pg. 6); Ability Points (AP) [pg. 12]

Days: What you currently have on the stats page matches the guide.

KHII: I'm only seeing abbreviations in the Bradygames guide. However, in the instruction manual on page nine they have: "Hit Points (HP), or health; Magic Points (MP)." For AP, I'm seeing only the abbreviation.

Re:COM: Instruction manual: I'm only seeing abbreviations for CP. Page 17: "Dark Points (DP)"

Verification for in-game:

Days: What you currently have on the stats page matches in-game.

COM (GBA): CP: Unless we check in the very beginning of the game for a tutorial, I'm not seeing anything but the abbreviation. DP: Dark Points is used on the menu and status screens. AP: Attack Points is used on the status screen.
