Seriously. There's no way Vanitas could have suvived those battles with Ventus and Aqua. Where has he been for the past twelve years? I always assumed he is dead. Maybe he faked his death?

Well, he's not my main focus at the moment. But man, am I shocked to learn that he's alive and well.

I was somehow confused. Maybe he is the mysterious figure at the land of depature after beating vanitas remnants. But his dead never really was confirmed, right?. I always assumed he fused again with Ventus (so he did somehow with Sora). I think it's really ok that he's returning, so we maybe learn why he has the same face as Sora has as an teenager. ...also the unversed aren't just a "one time"-thing. No one ever said that Vanitas died after Ventus defeated him. He was defeated. Being defeated=/=death. He just went to being part of Ventus's heart again...

...welp, that's my theory.
