And by some chance, I had brought my dice along! — 21:44, November 5, 2009 (UTC) In all games preceding Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, this familiar blue synthesis material has been spelled with a y. However, in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, its name has been slightly altered to have the i-spelling. It also is not blue anymore, and is now a green-ish color. Since they do technically have different names, I'm wondering whether we should just make an article just for the Mithril material from Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, or just merge it. What should be done?

i submit the fact that wikipedia and wiktionary recognize "mithril" as a correct spelling, and wikipedia recognizes "mythril" as a common spelling variation. not that this really answers the question, but it's food for thought. --Neumannz 21:57, November 5, 2009 (UTC)

To me, it's just yet another example of different translations/spellings between 358/2 Days and the other games (eg. Crescendo vs. Loudmouth).

It is clearly the same thing, though, and is treated the same in KH Days (as a metal material used as the basis for some recipes). The colors of the materials in Days are very rough, and not really usable. They only use a few different shades for the entire set, and we have stuff like Dark Ingot (a violet, instead of the clearly indicated black), and Frost (an almost violet blue, instead of the canonical aqua). KH2, however, has canonical "colors" for each material (the colors are actually listed, not just visible).

D.Dark - Master of lame names! TALK - D.Dark. 20:40, November 8, 2009 (UTC) Wasnt Mithril originally a fictional material made by J.R.R.Tolkien the author of LoTR? Other then that its Mythril in the Kingdom Hearts series (and FF) so its as simple as that.

TALK - Yes, Tolkien made it up, Dungeons and Dragons borrowed ita long with the rest of Tolkien's stuff, and then Final Fantasy borrowed that. In the process, and possibly due to dubbers mistaking it as "Myth-ril" or just due to licensing, a mispelling occurred. However, the official spelling is indeed Mithril.
