Keyblade-Blk.png So, we never really decided on a large issue with Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, and I'd rather bring it before I start and have my work burned... AGAIN. There are ninty-four missions in the game, and we haven't decided whether to create ninty-four seperate articles or to just have one article for them all. I think that we should create ninty-four articles; each one has different enemies at different levels, different multiplies for Heart Points, Munny, and EXP, and most (but not all) have Challenge Mission, which I have a already created a template for here: {{ChallengeMission}}. Not all mission are just smacking Heartless into the walls with combos; some are performing recon, or collecting Organization emblems. Therefore, each one has very different unique information that gives it enough information to have its own article. Plus, having ninty-four mission with bosses, multipliers, and strategies all on one page would be extremely cromded. Please leave feedback here, so that we can make an actual decision on this.

I agree on making a seperate article for every mission. If we put all missions on one page, the page would be too big. And every mission has different objectives, enemies and so on.

The levels of the enemies, their stats and drops, can basically be handled by the enemy's own page, so it's not so necessary to handle here.

I would suggest:

  • Mission number
  • Mission name
  • Applicable days
  • World
  • Heart factor
  • Munny factor
  • EXP
  • Emblems
  • Treasures
  • Clear Bonuses
  • Random Bonuses
  • Enemies
  • Mission Summary
  • Mission Intel

And then a brief walkthrough for the mission on normal, for 100% completion

Then, for the Challenges

  • Objective
  • Restrictions
  • Sigil requirements

And another brief walkthrough.

  • Possibly video walkthroughs as well.

It might also be a good idea to amass plot summary for these, at least on the talk page - the total plot should be accumulated on the world and character pages, I guess. (For example, Agrabah has been hit by massive sandstorms, and Aladdin is leading the rebuilding.)

That should be easy enough to do. If you want to handle this as an infobox, I can try to make one Saturday, but this week is going to be hell for me.Glorious CHAOS! 21:33, October 4, 2009 (UTC)

There should probably also be a see also, directory template, or category for missions of the same type - i.e., tests, recon, assassination, and heart-collection.Glorious CHAOS! 22:17, October 4, 2009 (UTC)

Keyblade-Blk.png Sounds good. I'll try creating an infobox, but I can only assume that it's possible with me. I'll contact you if there's any trouble. I was thinking that we name the mission similarly to comics on Sardapedia: Mission ##: Objective

For example: Mission 07: Collect hearts

I created a Sandbox in my user space with a very rough outline of how a mission page might look, based on the suggestions you guys have posted. It's far from perfect, so please feel free to tinker with it as needed. I don't have enough time to work out rough templates tonight, but since you guys are much better with that than me anyway, I put any information that would fit well in a template under headings called, um, "Template"; we should probably have two, one for normal missions, and one for challenges.

That's my two munny for now, anyway. I'll keep offering suggestions as things evolve.

Earthshaker Keychain KHBBS.png Well, look at my first example of a Mission Page, Dusk Survival. If we format them like this, we shouldn't have a problem. I'd actually delight in making these pages, so please ping me when I can start. Some users aren't happy with this idea, though, but at least I have a future project in store... We should then do something with the template I created here, Forum:Missions Template. That could link to each page. Again, please ping me when I can start, and if you have any questions in terms of formatting and such.

TerraCharm.pngAbove is an example of the Missions Template I was talking about. Rather than writing the boring, uninformational "Mission _" title, I took the Mission Objective title used in the Days Guidebook. THIS IS STILL A WORK IN PROGRESS!!!! ANY OTHER CHANGES CAN BE MADE ONCE FINALIZED! Opinions?

Make mission and challenge templates, and added them into the layout at my Sandbox. Thoughts?

Earthshaker Keychain KHBBS.png I like it, but we shouldn't be using templates to fill space and only space. A page isn't just a template. But if we had the correct amount of information on a page, perhaps we could combine both my template AND yours.

The main reason I was using templates is for a) a quick-reference and b) so that information that would otherwise easily be lost in page text would be easy to locate. Is there any info that you think would be better placed in (or removed from) the template(s)? I'm certainly not attached to them in their current form in anyway.

Please make the entire treasure template colored. If you don't add the colors to the rest of the rows, they will just appear white which makes it look bad. See any of the Mission articles that are up to see how this is done. Thank you!

Actually, the idea was so you'd know where one section started at a glance. I'd actually rather have slightly alternating colors to mark rows then so it's easier to read.

Could I change the colors? The orange and salmon don't really go well together in my opinion. Maybe something like this? Just something a little less bold for the alternating rows.

Unneeded SectionsEdit

Some parts of the mission articles we just have to fill up space. For example is the video section. I don't really feel like we need a storm of video uploads. It kinda defeats the whole purpose of only having vids on boss pages, etc. Plus, there are, like, NO Mission Walkthroughs for the English version, unless you use DChiuch's complete playthrough, but this isn't the best, as he fastforwards through regular gameplay. This is really the only section that is of relative issue on the Mission articles, and while a nice idea, is rather wasteful of space, really. I stink at phrasing things the way I like, so if I'm not clear, I an elaborate. Opinions? Also note that while videos may be the only questionable section, there may be others that I'm missing...
I think that anything that requires special instructions, like the Organization Emblem missions, Halloween Heartless, or boss fights, needs a video walkthrough. We don't have to actually upload it, though. I think those are the only things that are truly "hard" about the game - the rest of it is just timing and perseverance.Glorious CHAOS! 03:35, November 14, 2009 (UTC)
Mission such as "Collect hearts" need no such video walkthrough. --DoorToNothingKupo! 03:37, November 14, 2009 (UTC)

True, they're mostly the same things. What about the recon missions? I actually think they are needed, but hey, that's my opinion.--NinjaSheik 03:39, November 14, 2009 (UTC)

Demyx gives special missions for finding all the Heartless within certain Halloween missions, and not all of them are required to MG the mission; I know I never found them until I went through walkthroughs, and I still had some trouble because the location was vague.
I've been trying to start a page for the tasks that Organization members give you, for item purposes. However, it might be a good idea to have it as an actual article (some kind of Mission EX), though we would need to agree on a name, and we could give descriptions of the rewards, and possibly a short walkthrough for when it's something beyond "Finish a mission".Glorious CHAOS! 03:48, November 14, 2009 (UTC)
Unfortunately, we have no official name. Perhaps each opportunity given by the members of Organization XIII for extra mission goals can be put in a sub-page of the corresponding mission's? However, that still leaves the Limit Break-related and synthesis-related information with no place. --DoorToNothingKupo! 03:50, November 14, 2009 (UTC)
I meant all of those things in general; Xaldin's synthesis requests, Xigbar's trials, Axel's treasure hunts, etc. Plus, all of these operate based on what day-set it is, not what mission you're on, so doing it as Mission addendum's would be awkward.Glorious CHAOS! 04:10, November 14, 2009 (UTC)
I meant to put the request that require the replaying of a specific mission in sub-pages, and put the others somewhere else. Or, we can put it all on one article, like you suggested. Makes sense, but won't it be a crowded article? --DoorToNothingKupo! 04:13, November 14, 2009 (UTC)
Well, it would have a lot of entries, but most of them will be very short. Well, it would need to be made first anyway, so I'll keep working on my sandbox and we can decide when it's done.Glorious CHAOS! 06:13, November 14, 2009 (UTC)

I think missions that have the player looking for something (Emblems, scouting, Demyx's extra goals and so on) would be nice to accompany with a video walkthough, since some people (especially younger visitors) might have trouble with written directions. Boss videos should probably be on their respective pages. I do agree in the long run, though...most of the Mission pages probably don't need one; I was mostly putting the heading in as a placeholder until something was done about it.

As for the extras, there are quite a few, but they're not terribly complicated or demanding. Would a simple list of "extra goals" for 358/2 Days perhaps work? BebopKate 06:20, November 14, 2009 (UTC)

Our recent spate of outdated World images also took out the image we were using for Agrabah in the Mission tables. I'm not sure how to go about fixing this. Could one of you guys link the current Agrabah image to the tables, and also make sure we have no other images that will end up in a similar situation? Thanks!
