I'm well aware a discussion to change the wiki's layout is currently taking place, kupo. So in conjunction, I would like to propose some navigation based on category, kupo, using image boxes, that I've seen being implemented very nicely in some Wikias, kupo. These boxes are made based on the main categories. Basically what it will amount to is seen below, kupo: That's an example as I've used in the other wiki I work with, kupo. You can see it in its entirety here, kupo. What do you think? Please comment

I like it very much; I've never been fond of the massive text box at the top of the main page. I'd be glad to help with images if we get to that point, but I'll leave the coding to the masters.

Just because we're kids doesn't mean we can't run a business— 19:38, 9 July 2009 (UTC) I just used the categories from the 'Main Categories' section of the 'Gummi Ship' on the main page, but I suggest that we use more :P (so we get two lines (If we get 3 more categories, we can do 5 in each row, if 5 more, then 6 in each row, etc.)) I kept the border since we currently have it on all of the boxes on the main page. so, how is this draft of mine ?

I think Music and Mini-games would work; do Gummi Ships stand out too much to count as a mini-game, though? Also, snagging an idea from MT's wiki, what about a Merchandise section?

So, it the Merchandise Category, we have: Formation Arts Figures Play Arts Figures Kingdom Hearts Original Soundtrack Kingdom Hearts II Original Soundtrack Kingdom Hearts Original Soundtrack Complete The 13th Anthology yay... I was also wandering, can't we include the Kingdom Hearts Manga?

Example: [1] So, I would suggest Games (including mini-games and stuff like vcast, possibly gameplay elements such as Sleights, Reaction Commands, Abilities) Manga Cards Music Toys/Merchandise We also need a "Help" link, possibly linking to an admin's talk page, a noticeboard for problems (do we have one of those?), or something similar. Once we have that, a good second row for sub-categories would be: Characters Enemies Items (including equipment) Worlds (possibly + gummi) Gummi (if not with worlds) Mythology/Misc. (Light, Heart, Realms, etc.) Then, a good third row would be wiki material, if we really need it (it might work best to be directed to from within the "Help" section) Forum Images (links to "Special:Images as Gallery") Categories (links to "Special: All Categories") Templates would not be recommended. So, to sum up, here's what I would suggest: Games - DiZ Manga - Zexion Cards - Luxord Music - Demyx Toys/Merchandise - Xion new line Mythology - Heartless Emblem Worlds - Destiny Islands or Twilight Town Gummi - Highwind/Excalibur Characters - Sora Enemies - Dusk or Shadow Items - Keyblade new line (optional) User signup? - rip of Hollow Bastion Restoration Committee Membership Card Userboxes - ??? That crown mark used in the Journal, I guess Forum - can we get a rip of the job boards from Twilight Town? If not, then I guess the Heart version of Kingdom Hearts? Images - if we can get a rip of the "----" from Roxas's part of KH2 Categories - rip of Jiminy's Journal Help - possibly generic "?", preferably Mickey

Aside from that, Forums are linked to our sidebars, kupo I've replaced Categories with Abilities, kupo. I also considered putting six by two, kupo. The final designs are already in place, kupo. I'll start cropping these images right away. EDIT: All done :D

TALK - (No, I was suggesting using actual thumbnails, not cards.) Well, that's an Ether, not a Gummi Block, so that's a problem, and Random Joker would work better for the "Cards", and a World Card (Hollow Bastion?) for Worlds. And we really do need a directory to the various mythology articles, as they form the background of the series, and would be extremely important for anyone trying to figure out what's going on - our uploaded images...not so important. I would really suggest just including "Abilities" (like Sleights, Gears, Tech Points, and Synthesis) in a gameplay mechanics category reachable from the game link. On it's own, it's not nearly as important as the other links. Cards should point to the TCG, not to Chain of Memories. We absolutely must have a "Help category, though. Really, it's the most important out of any of these (which honestly need to be duplicated in the nav-bar to the right) So, I would suggest folding Abilities into "Category:Gameplay", a sub-category of "Games", and replacing it with Help, then replacing Images with Mythology.

Just because we're kids doesn't mean we can't run a business— 17:19, 14 July 2009 (UTC) I think that the TCG cards are not right for this... as they are big, and have more on them that the images (some text), and it's the image that we're using. Sure, they can be cropped.. About the either, there was no gummi card, so I just... used something square. Oh, and if we are gonna use these cards, we can't use the world cards, since they are much bigger! we must keep to the... "style"... OK, I agree that changing "Abilities" to "Gameplay" would be...eh... wise :P And "Help" should definitely be included! but why not include images? I don't get that... But we can't link to articles/categories that doesn't exist yet... so until a mythology category (or something) is created... we can't use it, can we? (well, unless we just make a new section that gives links to all of those articles (is that what you meant by "a mythology directory" ?)) p.s. I know that you were suggesting actual thumbnails, Kryten, but since they are not present, we can't use them :P but we might wanna try that out, I could start taking some screenshots and cropping them if we want to give it a try...

KrytenKoro - This is the song that runs under the credits; these are the credits, so this is where it goes. 'has nothing to do with the movie so we'll say, "Hey! Hey! Hey hey hey hey hey hey!" TALK - erg...no, "Cards" should point not to the Chain of Memories article, but to the Cards article. That's why I originally suggested them as the "parts of the franchise". "Images" is basically useless as a information source. It's just a lot of images, none of which are terribly informative. We shouldn't have it unless we're doing other, more important wiki-maintenance links. Then create a quick Mythology category. We need something that points to: Heartless, Nobody, Unbirth, Keyhole, Light, Darkness, Nothingness. The stuff that explains the series.

I've watched this forum for quite some time, and the new Main Page looks great. But not to complain, but shouldn't the Worlds section utilize a World Card as an image? Just seems fitting. Sorry if this was brought up already.
