OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODYESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!! YESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYES YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING!! To be clear, this is NOT a rumor, they just announced it at TGS and there's a website for it and everything! This is so awesome. The Remake title is KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5 REMIX, Square Enix announces that it will be an HD remake of KINGDOM HEARTS (Final Mix included), KINGDOM HEARTS RE:CHAIN OF MEMORIES, and KINGDOM HEARTS 358/2 DAYS. The only details revealed so far are the fact that they will be rendered in HD (yes, even DAYS) and will be on the PS3!! It's slated to be released some time in 2013. 2013!!!!!! We are getting the best 10th anniversary gift we could ever ask for (well...almost), and it's only coming out next year! It is currently in production right now, so there is no telling how long development took for this just to be announced. But that's not all. Along side the announcement of the REMIX, Square has also announced an online Facebook browser game for Kingdom Hearts with the temporary title of KINGDOM HEARTS for PC Browsers (tentative title). All that was given was a brief prologue about light, darkness, kingdom hearts, and the key blade, as well as the ability to have customizable avatars, going across Disney worlds, collecting materials, and a card based battle system (again). Not much else was revealed about this title, but it is announced for the Facebook browser, so there is no idea about what the quality of this game may be, let alone a release date. I would just like to repeat and emphasize that this is NOT A RUMOR. I found this on www.kh2.co.uk and www.kh13.com, two of the most reliable Kingdom Hearts news sites out there. I've just got to say that this was the best thing gift from the 10th Anniversary ever, even more so than 3D (well, not quite, we can still PLAY 3D). The future looks bright, and the wait for KINGDOM HEARTS III just got a lot easier. WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

480MS.png Though I'm just as happy as you, AROS, just remember that there's a chance that it won't be released outside of Japan.

You have to admit, though, it's still pretty awesome! I wonder if they're going to remake some in Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix scenes in the games into cutscenes. It'd be cool since those scenes like the with Xigbar and Zexion, for example, was never dubbed into English.

Though that has always been a problem in the past Uxie, I'm confident that this won't be the case THIS TIME. This game would be TOO HUGE for Square to get all stingy at the last minute and keep it in Japan like they've done with the final mixes and mobile games. If they did, they would loose a lot of fans before they could even begin to work on 3. Plus, this isn't just a remake, this is the series's FIRST RELEASE ON PS3 SYSTEMS, that's what everybody, especially us fans here in the US (and the UK gets a shout out too), have been demanding from Square for years. If they keep this in Japan, they may as well keep Final Fantasy X HD, too. Still, now that the month-long gap of news is over, we can all get back to what we do best: waiting for several long agonizing months until we can finally sink our teeth into something worthwhile.

Oh yeah, I need to correct myself. Upon closer inspection of the details given so far, it seems that while KH and ReCoM are getting the full remake treatment, 358/2 Days is probably only going to get representation through the updated cutscenes, so it might not be a full-game as I had originally thought/hoped. Still, I guess this is to be expected, you can only go so far with a game meant for two screens. Still, HD cutscenes would still be nice rather than those deformed polygons from the DS. If they do go along with the other games in a similar manner like I predict/hope, I would imagine a similar thing would be done with Re:Coded, cause as interesting as it was, it probably isn't worth making ANOTHER remake of, just maybe a few more cutscenes...in HD!

I think otherwise. For some reason I have a sneaking suspicion that this will be another Japan only title. Why? I just do and if it is remade in English then I think we'll be waiting for a long, long time. Possibly even after KH3 comes out.

Oh come on, for PS2 and PSP is one thing, there is always swap magic, but the PS3? I'm sorry but this is just TOO HUGE for Nomura to deny the US, especially when it includes the chance to localize Final Mix. By the way, who saw the trailer? I have to admit, I was expecting something a little more...noticeable in terms of graphics. I don't know, it'll probably look better on the PS3, but the other things are interesting. In Final Mix they removed the ??? box and replaced it with the Reaction Command box from Kingdom Hearts II, that's a nice addition, and they gave a sneak peak of one of the remastered Days scenes. This looks promising and I have faith that they won't deny us this time like they have so many other times. If they did, I would probably have some sort of crisis...

Exactly. I don't want to have a crisis so I'm not getting my hopes up.

JGv9T.png I have a theory, that due to the voice acting being in Japanese it is possible that an English release would be possible. As KHFM and KH2FM retained English voice acting, while this would not. It would be entirely in Japanese. So my intuition would say that because of that, the English version would be possible too. BUT, since they already have the English voice acting archived as well as all the text, why can't they just release a Japanese and English version altogether at once? There's something fishy...

20px-Pin_000.png "I'm sorry but this is just TOO HUGE for Nomura to deny the US, especially when it includes the chance to localize Final Mix." Oh, he's had plenty of chances to localize it. The point has been to never put a Final Mix in any other country.

Ok, I know we've been through this whole thing before. But still, let's take into the fact that this is for the PS3, an entirely "new" system for the series. While coded was never released outside Japan, sure, but it was a side game and it got remade anyway. And I agree with Erry, the fact that they are redoing the voices for Japanese release could be indicator enough that they could be localizing the whole thing...and come on, 358/2 Days HD cutscenes!? How exactly do they intend to keep those away from us? The point is that no matter how many times Nomura decided against releasing the final mixes outside of Japan, releasing them now in such a format would be the most sensible thing to do at this point in the series, since KH III is still a ghost, and at this point there are no announcements of any new side-games or prequels. If anything, this is their strategy to keep us busy just a little longer. Don't get me wrong though, the idea of this collection not being released in North America totally frightens me. I know how big of a possibility that is (I'm not THAT naive), but this is the opportunity of a lifetime. I guess we just have to wait and see if Nomura actually decides to take it this time...

I think if they won't release it beyond Japan, a whole lot of people would be very pissed off. They should release it in Japan, US, Europe and Australia, but that's just my opinion.

While this sounds awesome, I am wondering, Why Re:CoM and Days? Both are a heap of fun, but as far as importance to the story and general game quality is concerned, why not BbS and KHII? P.S. Please do not comment on the fact that I am back because I'm attempting a fresh start.

20px-Pin_000.png I mean, it's KH 1.5, of course KHII's not gonna be in there. As for BBS, I figure that they want to introduce fants ot the series, and releasing the first game, a remake of the second game, and a game that happens around the same time as the second game would be the most accessible.

You know, Nomura is a genius and stupid at the same time. I mean, he thinks up these long, complicated plots but then when it comes to buisness and marketing KH he is a bit stupid. He could of made loads of money by releasing Final Mixes in Englsh but there is one thing he does right: not making KH3 for a very, very, very long time. Once it comes out, everyone will be going CRAZY for it because of the loooooong wait.
