KeybladeSpyMaster - I do it for my family, my home, my friends! I do it for her!

Diamond Dust Keychain KHFM.png So, with the year wrapping up on us here and Kingdom Hearts III now approximately a year away, I think it a good time now to reorganize our projects on the wiki and determine which ones we want to actively pursue and which ones we want to shelf for now. I think one of the issues we have is that we have a lot of things to do and arent a whole lot organized on how to do it. We have this and this, a total of 14 listed projects (16 with MegaProject: Arise from 2014 and Operation: Keychain from 2015, both of which I believe should just remove). That's too many. And I don't believe there's any actual notable progress on any of them.

So, I think we should look at each one and consider what we know about the progress of each. Then, we should either reorganize them, with specific people taking charge, or shelf the project, at least for now, while we tend to more pressing projects. We should also consider organizing new projects, as need and priorities dictate. We should give people specific assignments with these projects, attaching a sense of responsibility to every user so we can ensure they are completed, and work together to complete each project. We can even advertise these via our social networks. I feel that we'll have more success attracting people that can help us add information if we advertise specific areas of need (KHX, KHII, merchandise, manga, PS4 titles, etc.) than if we continue advertising editing Kingdom Hearts articles in general.

We should open up more opportunities to lead on the wiki, too. This isn't just leading as in staff, but more as in opportunities to lead site projects like these, like the Trinity Archives, like creating videos, and more. Doing so will encourage more people to get involved and work on these things we still need. In short, we have so much to do here, and I believe if we're more clear on what we need to do, we may have more success on getting the people to get it done, than what we've been doing so far. As someone once told me, "If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what youve always gotten." We've almost always been kinda loose on what we want to do; now we need to be more specific and direct on what we need to do.

So to start. I don't know the status of many of the projects. I know we need to improve how were doing on covering KHX/KHUX. We also need to finish Project World, as Kryten has mentioned previously. I think we should invest resources into the merchandise before it gets too hard to keep up with. I think Image Renovation and Capitalization projects are done and should be removed. Some of the others, like SHOUT, Items, and Gummi, should be shelved for now. Maybe we can add something to the community portal to list active projects and shelved projects. What do you guys think. I agree that we have a lot of information missing, and projects might be a good idea to get stuff done, but unfortunately most of my time goes to the Unchained Wiki, so I don't think I can help out much. I can confirm that Project Inappropriate Capitalization is done, though.

Game Clear Data KHRECOM.png Isn't Project Dream also finished? Basically all I'm currently doing here is adding KHUX enemies and sometimes Keyblades. The thing that I really like to finish are the infoboxes for the KH Gummi ships, but gathering all the needed information takes too much time at the moment.

That being said if someone would prioritize one or two projects or create a new one, I would participate. I'm just not good with writing those story segments and descriptions.

I do agree that there's still a lot to done and unfinished projects to complete on the KHWiki. It's tough running a wiki dedicated to a game series, after all, especially since we're a small community comprised of edits who are either in college and/or working part- and/or full-time jobs. For story segments/descriptions, I typically handle that, and one of the new users, User:Levi657, is the one updating all KHX-related articles. I've mostly been revising them when I have free time (it's my last year in college and we're nearing the end of the semester, so I'm really busy). There's also the fact that numerous articles in desperate need of revision and additional information. I could help out with the Capitlaization project.

Diamond Dust Keychain KHFM.png Awesome, so glad to have support for this. It's looking like we're pretty unanimous that KHX definitely needs to be updated on this wiki. I know when I brought up the second version of Operation: Keychain back in June, Kryten also mentioned updating KHUX articles here. So there's one project we definitely need to organize, and we can try and get as many people as possible here to help us.

It also sounds like we've completed Inappropriate Capitalization and Project Dream, so that's good. And it seems to me that Redirected abilities has been completed as well. I'll create a list at the bottom that we can either strike out from or keep or add projects to.

Perhaps one thing we can do is ask everyone who made a user-led project listed in the Vacant House what the status was on their projects and whether they wish to continue leading them. If not, we can scrap the project from the list. This will reduce the amount of stuff we may feel pressured on doing, allowing us to focus on the higher-priority items like KHUX. As for the official projects (the ones in Merlin's House, like Project Image Renovation and Project SHOUT), like I said, we'll have to decide whether we want to invest time in them right now or put them off till later.

List of current projects:

Merlin's House (Official Projects)

  • Image Renovation: Appears mostly finished (if the aim is to replace images with better ones, than it's not finished). Xion4ever appears to have taken charge.
  • Cards: Unfinished and has stalled
  • Music: Unfinished and has stalled. KeybladeSpyMaster is currently in charge
  • Coliseum: Objective not clear as of 2014.
  • Items: Appears largely complete. TheFifteenthMember appears to have taken charge.
  • Video: No progress.
  • World: Significant progress previously made. Appears largely complete; however, Kryten mentioned just this last June that it is not. KrytenKoro appears to have taken charge.
  • Gummi: Incomplete, based on Shard's previous comment. ShardofTruth and Chainoffire appear to be in charge.
  • SHOUT: Unsure on the status of this one.

Vacant House (Projects organized users, not wiki-official)

  • Key Items: Led by TheFifteenthMember. Appears to be complete.
  • Inappropriate Capitalization: Led by Neumannz. Appears Completed.
  • Redirected abilities: Led by Neumannz. Appears Completed
  • Dream: Led by ANX219. Appears completed.
  • X (Key): Originally led byKeybladeSpyMaster. Incomplete, should be expanded to include KHUX.

So yeah, like I said, we should cross of this list anything we feel we should not worry about for now and add any projects we feel are really important ti take care if ASAP. And like I said, we can advertise to get people to help us, and will hopefully have more success in doing so, if we mention specifics. Diamond Dust Keychain KHFM.png

There are some more tasks listed on my user page which I planned on doing before I retired. To explain what they are:

  • Command Boards. The Command Board page needs a rewrite and the Skull Board page needs updating (there is no Ultimania page on it so we need to make an image for the command board by hand).
  • Keyblade Glider page need rewrite. It needs to include the "Glider Battles" mechanics better. I think "Glider Battles" should be treated similar to a minigame.
  • Prize Pod table needs an update. I think I left a draft of the table on its talk page.
  • Reaction Commands. A big project. Each one needs its own article?
  • Item page rewrite. Needs a proper list/links.
  • Attack page rewrite featuring all alternate attacks.
  • Synthesis page rewrite?

If anyone wants to pick these up, please do. Unfortunately I no longer have the time to edit myself. TheFifteenthMember 20:45, 27 November 2017 (UTC)

Diamond Dust Keychain KHFM.png FM, long time no see, my friend! Perfect, great to know. Maybe we should have a master laundry list of to do items, and then select a few, no more than three or four, I think, to formally organize and focus on. I'll ask around and see if I can compile such a list. Then, we can go from there to choose whatever we feel we should work on. Diamond Dust Keychain KHFM.png

Diamond Dust Keychain KHFM.png Alright, so let me see if I got this right. I asked for opinions from the Wiki KHUX party, and here's what I've got so far (I've removed the ones that seem to be completed):
  • KHχ/KHUχ Integration/Project χ
  • Better plot coverage
  • Image Renovation
  • Cards
  • Music
  • Coliseum
  • Items/Key Items/Item page rewrite
  • Video
  • World
  • Gummi
  • SHOUT
  • Key Items
  • Command Boards
  • Keyblade Glider page need rewrite
  • Prize Pod table needs an update
  • Reaction Commands
  • Attack page rewrite featuring all alternate attacks.
  • Synthesis page
  • Merchandise
  • Interview/Game Transcripts
  • Theater Mode

I think it's pretty unanimous that we focus our efforts on updating the wiki on KHUX, especially plot-wise. I'm also of the opinion that we should focus on the merchandise, since we have so much of that right now. The rest we should shelf for now. They can be picked up individually, of course, if anyone wants to lead those. Perhaps we can create some sort of page in Traverse Town for them to show as flyers of sorts like what we have here. So if no one minds, I'll get started on organizing those two projects. Thoughts? Diamond Dust Keychain KHFM.png

DaysXionTalk.png
OPXion4EverIcon.png Project Manga needs to be added. I'm not sure if I'm the best person to lead this charge- especially due to my crazy activity schedule, but I've been head honcho on re-doing/re-formatting most of these pages. UltimaSpark has also been on this- purely for images (thanks!). Most of what these pages needs are already provided on that forum link anyways.
For music, I can cover for you since you're going to be covering two other projects. I won't be crazy active once school resumes (woo winter break teacher's schedule), but I can be contacted (preferably through the Facebook page) for any edit questions.
For image renovation, I'm having to re-familiarize myself with our image policy, but I'll continue to help out there as able.
In regards to flyers- sure, they're pretty and attract some people, but, for most of these projects, it's going to fall on users who have been here for a while/look at the forums. A good 'ol fashion call-to-arms (ala GuardianSoul style -> Forum:Character Page Improvement) works fine and keeps us all updated- either on here or on the already created/open individual project pages.
