Cure (card).png
"Heal!"

Cure (ケアル Kearu?), Cura (ケアルラ Kearura?, lit. "Curera"), and Curaga (ケアルガ Kearuga?, lit. "Curega") are a series of magic introduced in Kingdom Hearts. They utilize the "power of healing" and are associated with the Bright and Shining materials. Cure magic restores HP to the user, or to a party member.

Visually, Cure magic invokes flowers or plants.

Story

Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep

Mickey uses Cure on Ventus when the boy battles Vanitas for the first time.

Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories

Donald uses Curaga to heal Sora from Larxene's attacks in the 12F Exit Hall.[1]

Kingdom Hearts II

Aerith uses Curaga to heal Yuffie during the Battle of the 1000 Heartless.

Mechanics

Kingdom Hearts

In Kingdom Hearts, Curaga summons a quartet of floral bells that sprinkle healing light onto the target.

In Kingdom Hearts, Cure is defensive magic that can be used by Sora and Donald. Cure restores a small amount of HP to one member of the party. The higher-tier Cura and Curaga restore increasingly larger amounts of HP. Cure magic costs 1 MP to use, and its power is determined by the following equations:

  • Cure:
    • HP Restored = (Max MP × 3) + 9[KH I]
    • HP Restored = Max MP + 15[KH I FM]
  • Cura:
    • HP Restored = (Max MP × 3) + 27[KH I]
    • HP Restored = Max MP + 27[KH I FM]
  • Curaga:
    • Fully recovers HP[KH I]
    • HP Restored = Max MP + 36[KH I FM]

Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories

In Chain of Memories, Curaga is visually the same as Kingdom Hearts.

In Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, Cure is a magic card that can be used by Sora.
