But since you're refusing to really change that translation to something more literal (I've seen 疾 and 急速 be used Rapid; and I'm guessing "Rapid Expressway"?), I might as well just give up then. I personally tend to translate things more literally and more apart from other terms, just so you know, and I mainly use tangorin for that. Plus, all because kousoku means rapid (via rapid rail-transit, that I get), but 高速ネットワーク can also mean "rapid network"?
