William Turner: Difference between revisions

William Turner is the son of Black Pearl crew mate "Bootstrap" Bill Turner, although Will was told by his mother that his father was a simple sea merchant so that her son would be a law abiding man. At some point in his childhood, Will was given a golden Aztec medallion by his father, believing it to be a trinket from one of his many travels. At age twelve, Will went on board a merchant ship, hoping to find his father. Unfortunately, Hector Barbosa and the crew of the Black Pearl bombarded the ship, seeking the medallion Bootstrap Bill had to end their curse. Will survived and drifted off to sea on a piece of drift wood. His unconscious body was found by young Elizabeth Swann, who was on board a British navy ship called the Dauntless. Will was brought on board and rescued. Elizabeth noticed the Aztec medallion around his neck and, fearing that Will be hung as a pirate, took the medallion. Will and Elizabeth became fast friends and eventually lovers, although she was still mystified by the medallion she secretly kept and was curious of its origins.
