(I'm using the Disney Wiki (thank you, Disney Wiki!) as a reference when doing the Origins, and I noticed that they spelled Lumiere's name as Lumière. Should we take this into consideration?)

Lumiere originated from Disney's 1991 animated musical film, ''Beauty and the Beast''. In the film, Lumiere and the other castle's residents were turned into household objects (in Lumiere's case, a candelabra) by an enchantress as punishment for Prince Adam's cold heart. Many years later, Belle's father, Maurice, stumbles in the castle to escape wild wolves, and Lumiere and the other servants warmly welcomes him. However, the prince (now known as the Beast) discovers this and locks Maurice away in the dungeon while Lumiere and the others sadly watch. When Belle comes to the castle in search for her father, Lumiere guides Belle to dungeon to see him. After Belle offers to be the Beast's prisoner in place of her father, Lumiere advises his master to show Belle to her bedroom. On the night that was Belle was supposed to have dinner with Beast, Lumiere and Mrs. Potts attempt to teach Beast how to act like a gentleman, a task that was quite difficulty. When Belle refuses to go, she later journeys into the dining room and Lumiere performs a song to entertain her.

Later, Lumiere and Cogsworth provide Belle with a tour of the castle, warning her that she is free to go anywhere but the West Wing (which she didn't heed). Throughout the rest of the film, Lumiere and the other servants observe Beast and Belle's budding romance, giving them hope that curse will be broken and they will revert back into humans. However, Beast releases Belle so she could go care for her sick father, prompting Cogsworth to inform Lumiere and the others of the sad news. When Gaston (the film's antagonist) storms the castle with angry villagers, Lumiere and the others defend it. Once Beast and Belle confess their love for each other,  the curse was broken and Lumiere and the castle's residents transform back into humans. At the ball that was being held to celebrate, Lumiere and Cogsworth got into another argument about which one told the other that Belle would break the curse, which quickly escalates into a brawl.
