Saïx is seen again talking to Kairi in her cell in the Castle That Never Was. He tells her, much to her horror, that she is the "fire that feeds Sora's anger". When Naminé rescues Kairi through a portal of darkness and the two halves are stopped by Saïx during their escape. Riku, still cloaked and in the form of Ansem, Seeker of Darkness, attacks him from behind. Saïx does a back flip in the air, and lands a few feet away. Riku slams him up against the wall, intending to finish him once and for all. However, Saïx opens up a portal behind him and sinks away into the wall with a smirk.

After Axel's demise, Saïx was present during the last meeting as he contradicts Luxord's statement on Axel gaining his existence back, berating Axel's sacrificial actions as he believed Axel died for nothing. Xemnas, while agreeing that Axel's actions were foolish, sees it as an opportunity for Roxas's possible revival.
