:::::That's very debatable, but Naminé, DiZ, Riku, Xion, Axel...pretty much everyone agreed that Sora needed Roxas to be "whole." And it's argued that Roxas unlocked all of Sora's true powers after their final merging at the World That Never Was. The way I see it is that Sora could still function and still be a powerful character without Roxas, but fusing with his Nobody made him even more powerful and more complete than he already was.
