| Heartless are proven to exist during this period as seen in 2 scenes- the first is where Neo Shadows are summoned by Master Xehanort to make Ventus submit to the darkness, the other scene shows Aqua confronted by two Darkside Heartless.

| No Nobodies are depicted in the game however presumably they exist during this period also as Nobodies are the remnant of a persons body when the Heart is lost and becomes a Heartless.

| In the Re:Coded Secret Ending there is speculation that Vanitas may return as Yen Sid states Master Xehanort has returned with another- if this is true- the Unversed may make an appearance alongside the Heartless and Nobodies in Kingdom Hearts 3.
