Sora (Wisdom Form) KHII.png

Wisdom Form (ウィズダムフォーム Wizudamu Fōmu?) is a Drive Form which appears in Kingdom Hearts II. It uses Donald Duck and consumes three of Sora's Drive Bars. It represents Sora's magic[1] and is obtained when Sora clears Timeless River.

Mechanics

Wisdom Form is unlocked after completing Timeless River and is activated with the help of Donald, which combines with Sora to represent his magical capabilities, and his potential to use powers other than just his strength. Wisdom Form gains experience for every Heartless defeated and greatly strengthens Sora's magical ability.

In Wisdom Form, Sora begins gliding on the ground instead of walking. Also, the 'Attack' command is changed to 'Shoot'. This command makes the Keyblade launch shots that have limited homing properties.

Wisdom Form is based on magical abilities. In this form, the player can do quickly magic combos with powerful magic combo finishes. It also increases magic strength. The 'Shoot' command is less powerful than the 'Attack' and 'Magic' commands, so, it is better to use during MP charge, when magic isn't usable. Although, Wisdom Form gives Sora the MP Hastega ability what makes this period much shorter. Also, with the Mobile Action ability and the use of long ranged attacks, this form is the better for the hit & run strategy. So if you need the most out of your magic or just need some medium range attacks use Wisdom Form. Template:Section-stub

Appearance

Wisdom Form turns Sora's clothing blue and black, with blue flames on his pants and sleeves. Sora wields only one Keyblade in this form. While in Wisdom Form, specks of light float around Sora's legs. There is also a blue magical mist surrounding Sora's feet that turns into two light blue wisps, one rising from each foot, when Sora slides across landscape. Sora's ability to slide across the ground covers his entire body with him sliding across the ground on his back during some combos. The only time Sora actually stands is when he lands from a jump. These wisps circle Sora in a manner similar to a double helix when Sora is stationary. Sora moves acrobatically in this form, spinning the Keyblade idly behind his back when not moving, and flipping around when shooting magic bullets. He also tosses the Keyblade into the air when he jumps, catching it when he reaches his height.

The official artwork shows Sora's sleeves with blue flames, but in-game the sleeves have the same design as the Master Form's. Square-Enix changed the sleeves in Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix back to the original blue flames.

  • Timeless River: Sora's health icon gets a light blue tint.
  • Halloween Town: Sora's mask changes into one that resembles a Black Mage from the Final Fantasy series.
  • Christmas Town: A blue flame appears on Sora's santa hat and on the back of his shirt.
  • Space Paranoids: Sora's circuit lines turn a darker shade of blue.

Strategy

Wisdom Form is very proficient at magic, and is useful against enemies that are hard to defeat at close range, such as the Hot Rod. While in Wisdom Form, Sora glides along the ground rather than running, and becomes able to perform commands while moving. His casting is sped up and all his magic finishers increase in power as well. The player should always be prepared to cast Cure, as Donald is unable to help in this manner. Since Wisdom Form levels by defeating Heartless, it is best to avoid using it while fighting Nobodies and Pirates. The player should try to defeat enemies as fast as possible by mixing up standard attacks with magic. Setting Goofy's behavior to "Relentless Attack" can help in this way. The best Keyblades for training Wisdom Form are the Oathkeeper, Bond of Flame, Ultima Weapon, and Fatal Crest, as these have high magic stats and helpful abilities. One of the best places to train is Hollow Bastion, as it has plenty of Heartless and numerous save points. The Shadows in The World That Never Was are also good fodder, as they appear almost indefinitely and are easy to defeat.

Strategy

Wisdom Form is a very speedy and magically-proficient form, and is very useful against enemies that have any type of elemental weakness. While in Wisdom Form, Sora glides across the ground rather than running, and becomes able to perform commands even while moving using the "Mobile Action" technique. His spell-casting is sped up, and each of his spell finishers increase in power. However, Donald is no longer available for magical support, so Sora will need to handle all the healing himself.

Since Wisdom Form levels by defeating Heartless, there is little point in using it while fighting anything but weak Heartless. The best Keyblade for training Wisdom Form is the Oathkeeper; a magic-boosting Keyblade like the Bond of Flame, Mysterious Abyss, Photon Debugger, Hidden Dragon, Circle of Life, or Ultima Weapon is a good substitute for the Oathkeeper if the player doesn't have it yet. The most efficient place to train Wisdom Form is Timeless River's Windows to the Past. All four of the windows are close to the world's exit and are small rooms filled with weak Heartless, so that Sora can quickly cycle between rooms to respawn the Heartless, and can quickly reset his Drive Gauge by exiting to Disney Castle.
