The Scimitar, named Sword in Kingdom Hearts, is Aladdin's weapon throughout the Kingdom Hearts series. Bandit Heartless wield a similar weapon.
Design
True to its name, Aladdin's weapon is similar to that of an Arabian scimitar. The Scimitar is very basic in appearance. The hilt of the sword is gold, the cross-guard is slanted, and the pommel is a simple sphere. The blade itself is thick—much thicker than a normal scimitar blade. The blade is colored silver, and it is curved.
Origin
In the movie "Aladdin," Jafar casts a line of Scimitars lodged in the ground to keep Aladdin from Genie's lamp. Aladdin then picks one up to fight Jafar, who had transformed into a giant snake. This is the only time it is used in the movie. Aladdin doesn't fight at all before then; he just runs away from authority.
