The Monochrome (モノクローム Monokurōmu?) is a Keyblade from Kingdom Hearts II. Monochrome is obtained in Timeless River. This keyblade is a card in Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories.

Appearance

The Monochrome's guard is a lifesaver float while the blade is a steamboat stack. The keychain is a ship's wheel, possibly that of the Steamboat Willie. The teeth also resemble the steam whistles from Steamboat Willie. Other than that, the Monochrome resembles the transmitter of the Graham Bell phone.

Acquisition

Monochrome is gained after clearing the Timeless River. In Kingdom Hearts: Re:Chain of Memories you can obtain this Attack Card by using the Key to Rewards in Olympus Coliseum, as a Reverse/Rebirth completion bonus (or a Kingdom Hearts II:Final Mix completion bonus for the Japanese version). Its element is neutral, so it can pierce frontal defenses, such as Fat Bandits or Defenders or even Vexen. However, it has horrible CB recovery.

Etymology

The word 'monochrome' is another word for one color, and is often used to describe things that are in black and white, like the world of Timeless River.
