KHWiki:Magazine
The magazine is a joint community project between KHWiki.com and our sister Wiki, The Keyhole. It has two main purposes: to inform news related to both Wikis and Kingdom Hearts; and to entertain readers with thought-provoking articles, interactive puzzles and fan-based discussions. The magazine also hosts the podcast, a secondary project that aims to deliver news reports and debates in sound form. The project follows a quarter-year time structure, with a new issue releasing after every three months.
Since this is a community project, both Wikis work collaboratively to create each issue. Join the team and head over to the Journalist Spot to add your input!
The Plan
The first issue is set to be released in July. For the time being, explore the features and articles our thirteen-paged magazine will contain:
- Cover: Drawn by our users.
- Contents: As standard for any extended piece of text.
- Trinity Archives: A summary of all the KH news and updates we've received in the past three months.
- Unlocking the Keyhole: A summary of what's new at the Keyhole.
- The Door to Light: A summary of what's been happening at KHWiki.com.
- The Coliseum: A follow up to the Keyhole's Underdrome and the KHWiki.com's Mirage Arena. Two opinionated fans share their views on a popularity battle between KH themes.
- The Keyblade Master: A special, roundabout page where the subject changes entirely from issue to issue. The unpredictability of this page comes from the fact that the author changes each time!
- Dive to the Heart: A tutorial page comprised of two parts. A game tutorial to help out with specific parts of a KH game and a Wiki tutorial that educates editors on writing techniques and coding pieces. Readers can request certain guides via email.
- Round Room: Hosts the podcast, with a summary of what the team will talk about in the latest issue.
- Mark of Mastery Exam: A user fandom area that includes our editor's opinions and thoughts. The page will feature a review on a KH-topic, a "Top Five List" and an interview of one of our Wikis's editors and staff.
- Naminé's Sketchbook: A piece of fanart, carefully drawn by members of our community. Requests for image themes can be made through email.
- The Game Grid: A quiz that consists of three parts- a Pokémon-styled "What Heartless am I?", a character puzzle "Who am I?", and a KH-themed riddle. Answers can be emailed to us and correct entries will be awarded a special mention on the next issue, an accolade and first priority when making requests for tutorials and fanart topics.
- Flick Rush: The final page in the magazine featuring a number of interactive segments. Other than a mailbag, poll and contact details, challenges will be set to encourage readers to help out with small tasks on both Wikis and have fun attempting to achieve certain feats in Kingdom Hearts games. The achievers who complete a task can email us proof of their achievement (either by showing their edits for Wikis or providing a screenshot/camera photo of their game) and they'll be treated to the same rewards mentioned for "The Game Grid" winners.
