Defense Boost (also called Defense Up) is an item that can be obtained in the Kingdom Hearts series. Defense Boosts will permanently increase a character's Defense stat by one. This item can only be used from the items menu after it is obtained.
Synthesis list
Kingdom Hearts
In the original game, Defense Ups can be found in chests throughout various Worlds. In addition, they can be synthesized from List II by using the following:
- 5 Lucid Shard
- 3 Lucid Gem
- 1 Lucid Crystal
- 1 Mystery Goo

In this game, the only one Defense Boost in a treasure chest is in 100 Acre Wood in Piglet's House. You can also earn them by completing Moogle Lists. Adding a Serenity Crystal to the recipe will create a Power Boost.
