In ''Kingdom Hearts II'', Overdrive is an [[action ability]] exclusive to Auron. It costs 3 {{AP}} to equip and all of Sora's [[MP]] to use. The Limit begins with {{nihongo|'''Bushido'''|がりゅう|Garyū|lit. "Self-taught"}}, which causes Sora and Auron to stand back to back and slash enemies around them. Afterwards, two commands alternate between each other: {{nihongo|'''Shooting Star'''|りゅうせい|Ryūsei}}, in which the user spins around to attack enemies, and {{nihongo|'''Banishing Blade'''|せいばつ|Seibatsu|lit. "Conquest"}}, where the user leaps towards enemies and slices downwards with their weapon. Each of these two commands are spread out over the [[Attack]] and [[Reaction Command]] slots; Sora performs commands activated from the Attack slot while Auron executes commands triggered through the Reaction Commands. The finishing move is {{nihongo|'''Spiral'''|じんぷう|Jinpū|lit. "Gust"}}, where Sora and Auron spin their weapons rapidly to create a large tornado that draws enemies in before dealing heavy damage. Sora cannot move freely during this limit. The limit can be cancelled early through the {{nihongo|'''Stop'''|やめる|Yameru}} command in the Limit slot.

"Overdrive" stems from the name of the {{ns|finalfantasy|Overdrive (Final Fantasy X)|Limit Break system}} in {{ns|finalfantasy|''Final Fantasy X''}}, where Auron made his first appearance. Each segment of the Limit refers in some way back to one of Auron's four Overdrives. {{ns|finalfantasy|Bushido (Final Fantasy X)|Bushido}} is the name which collectively refers to Auron's Overdrives, while the technique's Japanese name is a homophone to {{nihongo||牙龍|Garyū|lit. "Fang Dragon"}}, which is the Japanese name of Auron's {{ns|finalfantasy|Dragon Fang (Ability)|Dragon Fang}} Overdrive. {{ns|finalfantasy|Shooting Star (Ability)|Shooting Star}} and {{ns|finalfantasy|Banishing Blade}} share their names with two of his Overdrives, and Spiral resembles and shares its Japanese name with his final Overdrive, {{ns|finalfantasy|Tornado (Bushido Ability)|Tornado}}.
